Volume 238
Thank you Joyce....
head on over and join in!
1. It's October so let's get this out there first thing...have you jumped on the all-things-pumpkin bandwagon? How so?
No I haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet. I do however plan to buy candy at Costco this week for the trick or treaters. Hopefully if we get to the apple orchards we will get a pumpkin there.
2. "We have more power than will; and it is often by way of excuse to ourselves that we fancy things are impossible." Francois Duc De la Rochefoucauld
What's something you once thought impossible, but in hindsight see as more a matter of lack of will?

I'm lost here.....
3. The rose is America's National Flower, but every state also has its own (click hereto see the list). Are you happy with yours? If you were in charge what would youdeclare your state's flower? If you're outside the U.S. what bloom would you like to see labeled as your country's national flower?

I am very much happy with the California Poppy along with the Purple Violet in Illinois. I've lived in California for 26 years and Illinois for 38 years.
4. What have you lost interest in recently?
4. What have you lost interest in recently?
I don't know if I have lost interest but feeling overwhelmed with all of my favorite TV shows. Feeling a lot of pressure about watching all them and as you know there are way too many shows out there today. I hate to give them up but it certainly takes away time from your life.
5. In your opinion, who's the best living musician?
I am probably not the one to ask. I have enjoyed the music of Kenny G. Now if I go by this list "Top 20 Musicians of All Times" I would have to go with Michael Jackson, Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong.
6. S'mores-love 'em or no? Ever make them indoors? Last time you sat around an outdoor fire? Are making s'mores and sitting round a fire pit on your autumn bucket list? Do you have an autumn bucket list?

I do like S'mores. Can't remember the last time I had one or sat around an outdoor fire. This is not on my bucket list for fall because I still want my beach trip!
7. Your favorite small town? Why?
7. Your favorite small town? Why?
I'm not sure if I have one.....but if I could pick a town in Europe that I would like to try out for awhile it would be Godalming in Surrey, England. (From The Holiday Movie)
I can't believe when I read the link I shared above from the movie that they built that cute little cottage for the movie and then tore it down!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Yesterday I shared some photos of Adam and Tristen's apartment. Here are a few pictures of us. I never did get one of all four of us.

this will come as a shock, but i have lost interest in posting on my blog, my mojo is gone, not one funny bone left in my body and i want to give it up but can't seem to.
i don't do Halloween so no punkins here... I am off to see what the FLorida flower is, i have lived in 3 states and have no idea what the flowers are... just checked and the orange blossom is FL flower... that makes sense.
Hi,
I have a Kenny G Christmas album and I love it.
I think the California Poppy is beautiful too.
Have a great week,
Carla
Those are great pictures of you all Debby :) I know what you mean about TV shows; I don't follow a lot, in fact none now, but over the summer was watching Zoo and Master Chef. Only 2 nights "committed" to them but it was hard to work out dinner those nights with us wanting to get out to walk, etc. Shows begin an hour earlier here too since we are on mountain time, so that "takes" away an hour early in the evening if you want to be home to watch something that starts at 7 p.m. I don't think we are going to get trick or treaters here being in a "gated" community. I think I'll be buying a small bag of candy just in case, but I don't see many kids around here and I have heard that the locals go to other communities that are not gated.
betty
Kenny G is a good choice! Great pictures of you and your family, Debby! I know you enjoyed your time together.
I really like your pictures and I love your yellow coat. So pretty.
We haven't gotten anything pumpkin yet either, but we also plan to buy candy for trick or treat. Sometimes we get a lot of kids and sometimes just a few. It really depends on the weather, I guess.
I hate when I get overwhelmed with some of my shows... I tend to start cutting some out then.
I love your yellow jacket! Yellow is so fun & bright.
Great pictures! We turned off the TV eight years ago and don't miss it. We still get movies from the library from time to time.
Great photos - it looks like a great vacation. Okay if I get Halloween candy too early I eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I do like S'mores - and making them is fun.
I've never had a s'more!
Wasn't Louis Armstrong the best?! I'm going to have to go back and look at that 'top 20' list and see who resonates.
Great photos.... my, how Adam resembles his mom!
Yes, love my Kenny G music as well. I so enjoyed seeing the pictures of you and your family. Where were they taken? The background is beautiful.
great smiles. i'm with you on the overwhelmed dvr, packed with shows i need to watch. not enough time these days/nights for sleep, work, exercise and watching tv too. :)
I'm struggling with watching all of the tv shows, as well. My dvr is full, and there's just not enough time to watch them. We both should probably spend our time doing something better :)
Great photos, by the way. I hope you enjoyed the visit!
Love the family photos!
I'll have to find out more about that village in Surrey. Sounds interesting. I haven't bought any Halloween candy, but we rarely get a single soul here on Halloween. Kids don't walk the country neighborhoods anymore, and they get a bigger 'haul' if they get a ride to town and go door to door. Seems odd, doesn't it, for when I was a kid, we only went to friends' homes.
Nice family pics!
Oh. And I love the California poppy!
nice pictures
You know, there's just very little TV I feel is a must watch anymore. I can honestly take it or leave it. I do watch some HGTV now but probably because we're in house build mode. I love the poppy! Makes me think of England : ) Have a great day Debby!
Great pictures. I too love the California poppy...Mississippi's magnolia, Texas blue bonnets...there is nothing like blooming flowers to me.
HI Debby's, I love Ca. Poppies too. I always love reading your answers. I would not give out candy but hubby insists.
Loved your family photos! Have a great Friday.
Hugs,
Noreen
#2 stumped me, too!
I love Illinois violets; however, my husband does not as they are taking over the back yard. They are so pretty in the spring, though!
We didn't get to Godalming when we spent the day in Surrey, but we did get to Shere, where the White Horse Pub is. It's also where the "cottage" was. The church you see in the movie? Also in Shere, and it's AMAZING.
