~ Happy New Year ~
Join in and play along....
1. Share a favorite memory/moment from the week of Christmas.
Just being together under one roof as a family, eating 3 meals a day together and just hanging was the best Christmas gift I could have ever asked for. It was Nirvana for me: a state of perfect happiness; an ideal or idyllic place.
Job 33:4 NIV
"The Spirit of God has made me;
the breath of the Almighty gives me life."
and these people are the reason I breathe......
2. If someone wrote a book about your life based on the past year, what genre would it fall under? What would the title be?
Drama-Self Help-Horror-Health-Travel- Spirituality-Cooking = Dysfunctional Junction
I felt very patriotic when I joined in on Facebook changing my photo to the flag of France. It felt like America was giving them a big hug!
4. What experience from this past year would you like to do all over again?
I'm going to say our 3 night stay on the beach in Carlsbad, CA because I get to do it again in February. That was one of my Christmas gifts from Mark.
5. What song lyric sums up or is a reflection of your 2015?
Can't Smile Without You by Barry Manilow. Too much to explain but it involves each person in our family for different reasons......
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you
6. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate 2015? (10=stellar) Why?
Okay, I had this question running through my head most of yesterday. I gave my year a five. Then I was driving to the bank to deposit a Christmas check and I thought that number was too low because I have so many blessings that need to be accounted for.
Yes I struggled with many things in 2015, things I wouldn't want to relive but the blessings from God are too good and I am so thankful for them so my number is seven!
7. What part of the upcoming year are you most excited about?
Yes I struggled with many things in 2015, things I wouldn't want to relive but the blessings from God are too good and I am so thankful for them so my number is seven!
7. What part of the upcoming year are you most excited about?
Moving forward, getting organized, slimming down, living each day to the fullest and working out all the dates when we can see/be with Adam & Tristen again. I need those days written in stone because they will give something to look forward too.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
My shin injury from two months ago is finally looking better. It has had a thick ugly scab for awhile now so I continued to wear long pants.
I think I might be able to start wearing capri pants again when our weather warms up a little bit because it is now off.
Compared to how it looked on day one this injury is looking great to me. I'm sure MadSnapper with agree with me on this one. She was the one brave person to ask to see the first photo from the day it happened.....

Having family around, nothing like it! The Carlsbad beach looks wonderful. What a lovely thing to look forward to! Glad your shin has healed. Praise God for making bodies that heal! I had a shin injury a few years ago when I was attempting to split wood. What a painful thing! Hope you have a wonderful 2016.
madsnapper is nuts! ;)
like your family photo and your explanation of the best christmas present. may 2016 bring you more blessings to raise your rating. :)
Dysfunction Junction - made me laugh :)
OUCH... your leg... glad its healing up.
Glad to see your leg is healing up! Also excited to hear about your present from Mark for that time in Carlsbad coming up in a month or two! Something to look forward to in addition to the times ahead of seeing Adam and Tristen in the new year. Great picture of the five of you! Glad to hear the time together was a great one!
Happy New Year!
betty
You know it is hard to rate a whole year - depends where you are and what is going on - you know what I mean? Love your answers.
Happy New Year!
Your book title comment is so funny. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with your family for Christmas. I love Barry Manilow. I have very similar goals for the new year. Happy New Year!
What a beautiful picture of your family! I'm glad you were all able to be together and enjoy the day. Glad, too, that your leg is getting better. Ouch!
Hi Dear Friend,
You are so right....I like how you answered #6.
I am so happy you had time to spend with family.
Happy New Year,
Carla
Love Barry Manilow Debby. Reminded me of these lyrics from a Nilsson song.
I can't live, if living is without you. I can't give, I can't give anymore.
Happy 2016!
Being with family is the best and I'm so glad you were all able to enjoy your time together(I really like the picture). Glad your leg is healing. That looks like it must have been really bad.
It's so cool you get to go back to the beach in February. Hope you have an awesome time.
Happy New Year!!!
Oh my gosh, I have to steal your title for your book of your life. Mine could be Hot Mess Express! LOL Have you tried having a word of the year to focus on? It might help and be smaller to carve in stone! LOL
i love the beaches in San Diego! Its so warm and paradise like. My uncle lives in Carlsbad but is moving to Vegas in a couple of months. I guess it got too expensive for them and want to live closer to where their kids are. Hope you had a great Christmas & Happy New Year to you!
I LOVE that picture! What a lovely family! Your number 2--Hot Mess Express! I could have used that one too. LOL Tell Mark he needs to give you a Christmas gift that lands you over here in Charleston. It's certainly hot enough for us to hang out on the beach! You make an excellent point about the number rating for 2015. I feel like I should change mine to a 9 since all of my reasons for making it a 3 are so selfish. Thank you, seriously, for that reminder. :) Happy New Year, my wonderful friend!
Enjoyed reading your answers. Glad your leg is healing. Happy New Year.
What a great picture of you all! I'm so happy you had that time with all the kids!
Glad your year had plenty of good in it. Love the Christmas picture!
What a wonderful Christmas gift: to just be with your family! :)
(the gift from Mark doesn't look too shabby, either!)
I'm so glad you had a great Christmas with your family! The family picture is so good!
Lucky you, having another get away to look forward to in February :)
Happy New Year!

Yes, having dates "set in stone"really does help us survive the time we are apart from our loved ones and gives us something to look forward to. Blessings abundant to you in the year ahead!
Oh I definitely understand the need to have the next visit on the calendar! I'm so glad you're getting another beach holiday. That was a thoughtful gift! Happy new year to you and your family : )
Great family photo, Debby!
I agree, having something(s) to look forward to is a great motivator/'cheer-er upper!" (...and speaking of 'cheer', I'm smiling and humming along to Barry Manilow.)
Happy New Year!!!
Great family photo and I say amen to number 6. We are blessed beyond measure. What a nice gift you have to look forward to. Happy new year.
Loved your post. Happy New Year to you and yours.
