DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE OSCAR'S ON SUNDAY
Friday February 5th I went to see The Choice. I have to say that I really liked it. Nicholas Sparks books make good movies!
"Travis and Gabby first meet as neighbors in a small coastal town and wind up in a relationship that is tested by life's most defining events."
What can I say about Zoolander No. 2......funny, silly, crazy and a whole lot of laughs. We enjoyed it for all those reasons. Mark and Adam were at this movie with me.
"Derek and Hansel are lured into modeling again, in Rome, where they find themselves the target of a sinister conspiracy."
I have to say that I really enjoy the actresses in this movie so I knew I couldn't miss it. How To Be Single was a very entertaining movie. I will be buying this movie on DVD when it comes out.
"New York City is full of lonely hearts seeking the right match, and what Alice, Robin, Lucy, Meg, Tom and David all have in common is the need to learn how to be single in a world filled with ever-evolving definitions of love."
Mark and I went to see Deadpool on Saturday. I love Ryan Reynolds and it looked like it was going to be very entertaining and it was! Yes it is a shoot em up movie with a lot of violence but it was also very funny.
"A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopting the alter ego Deadpool."
On Tuesday I went to see The Lady in the Van. This was a sweet movie and also very sad to see someone who lives on the streets in her van. I enjoyed this movie and the relationship between the characters. Maggie Smith is always excellent in her performances.
"A man forms an unexpected bond with a transient woman living in her car that's parked in his driveway."
Sunday is Academy Awards night, my favorite time of year! You can get a printable ballot here or other information about the Oscar's here. You can also read some of my past Oscar posts 2015, 2014, 2013 about Oscar's Pizza! Yes it will be a pizza Sunday and I have our ballots printed out.
I have seen 7 of the 8 nominated movies but by Sunday I will have seen all 8 movies. I was able to buy Spotlight at Target this week and we will be watching it tonight evening. I have to admit I have only seen bits and pieces of Mad Max, not my kind of movie at all, hard for me to get into it.
Right now the odds are in the favor of Spotlight taking home the Oscar for Best Picture. Since I haven't watched it yet I can't give my opinion. I think many of the movies are worthy of winning.
I have to say that it is a pretty good list this year. I'm hoping to see Leo DiCaprio win for Best Actor in The Revenant and Brie Larson for Best Actress for Room. You can see my movie reviews here.
Will you be watching????

I would love to watch, but don't know (yet) which channel will air it. I have not seen a single one of the films up for best film (I don't think anyway).
no to watching, since i don't go to the movies i don't know the stars or the movies. i do like to watch the red carpet part even though i don't know most of them. i have to say i have never seen the oscars except the parts they show on the news.. or the grammy's either.. we do watch the country music awards, but fast forward through most of it... i know how much you love movies and the oscars are perfect fun for you since you know them all and can have a favorite...
We saw the Mad Max movie a few weeks back. Hubby likes those types of movies. The special effects were really well done, but I was so glad when it was over :)
I didn't know the plot for the Lady in the Van; I will look for that when it comes out to rent later; sounds interesting.
I doubt we will be watching the Oscars; I used to enjoy watching them years ago but haven't in a few years. It could be interesting this year with Chris Rock as the MC and the controversy over not a lot of diversity on the ballot.
betty
I need to see anything Maggie Smith is in.
I gotta find someone to go see Zoolander 2 with me. I LOVE the first one :)
I would like to see The Choice - and Zoolander. Also the Lady In The Van - I love Maggie Smith. I want to watch the Oscars on Sunday too - so much fun to look at the clothes. Have a fun Oscar party.
I won't be watching so you'll have to let me know what happens ;-)
Gosh, I recall when the Oscars were Appointment TV.
Now, we don't know half of the actors. (Remember when they called them actors and actresses?)
I doubt we'll be watching this year ... but I hope your personal favorites win!
Appreciate the reviews Debby. I have not seen any of them.
I was tickled pink that Leo finally was recognized for the amazing actor he is...He deserved that Oscar....
I didn't watch the Awards, but I did read about the winners today. You did good in your predictions!! Spotlight, Leo, and Brie! I'm not much of a movie watcher, but I always appreciate your reviews. I don't think I could watch The Revenant, sounds way too intense and violent for me. But I am intrigued by Spotlight and Room.
xo
good reviews.
As always my dear I love reading your reviews. I miss so many of the movies.
