Adam and I went to the show in January and then I got a few movies in last week. Trying to get caught up on a few before the Oscar's are on.
We went to see Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks and it was a very good movie. We both enjoyed it and it is definitely worth seeing.
"During the Cold War, an American lawyer is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court, and then help the CIA facilitate an exchange of the spy for the Soviet captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers"
Then I went to see Room which was excellent. They did an amazing job with this story and I would love to see Brie Larson get the Academy Award for this one. And the little boy is amazing too.
"After five-year-old Jack and his mother escape from the enclosed surroundings that Jack has known his entire life, the boy makes a thrilling discovery"
Then I went to see Carol which I liked. The acting was very good. It is a touchy subject so not everyone will want to see this movie.
"An aspiring photographer develops an intimate relationship with an older woman."
Next up is the movie Brooklyn. Excellent movie and definitely worth seeing. I'm really glad I saw it! I will definitely buy this one on DVD to show my dad when I visit with him.
"An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within."

i love Tom Hanks, he is so good... would like to see this. hope i am still alive when it makes it to TV.
I was wondering about The Room if it was good or not; thanks for the review of that. We get movies later than you guys I think because I haven't seen the Tom Hanks one advertised here or the Brooklyn one; both sound good too.

I had never heard of Room until the Golden Globes but it looks great!
I have not seen one of those movies! They sound good. Glad you have had some company these days to go Debby! I ordered some pizzas from Lou M. and I got them yesterday - going to save them for Valentines Day and i am excited. Have a good weekend.
We never did get around to seeing Bridge of Spies when it was in our theaters, darn it. Not so sure about the subject matter, but Tom Hanks is so good I'd happily watch him in anything!

Love your movies posts Debby. Brooklyn and Bridge of Spies are both on my list of movies to watch.
I heard something on a podcast about Carol and it sounded interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing it. The subject matter doesn't bother me. I will definitely get Room from the library when it comes out because I really liked the book.
The previews on the Tom Hanks movie looked good. Brooklyn looks good, too.
