California Poppies along the freeway......
The Beach Terrace Inn Carlsbad, CA. Check in time is 4:00 pm and Super Bowl was starting at 3:30. Mark had received an email about our visit and they asked if there was anything else they could do for us. So Mark asked them if they could check us in earlier. They said that wouldn't be possible.
So I emailed them and asked if there was a TV in the main lobby. They said that they would give us a key to the lounge where they have the Continental Breakfast and we could watch the 60" TV in there. So I was okay with that.
We arrived in Carlsbad around 11:30 am, walked around town a little bit and I went into a few shops. Found me a cute little ornament at 70% off! Then we went over to Jay's, our favorite place, and had lunch. We ordered their pepperoni bread, which is scrumptious, to take back as a snack later. We had awesome Caesar salads.
We headed over to the Beach Terrace Inn around 3:00 pm and they had a room ready for us. The room was perfect and on the third floor and of course facing the ocean. Watched the Super Bowl and had a fun time. There was a small box of chocolate shells on the bed......
A Ladybug visited me!
Love walking on the beach......
The Continental Breakfast each morning.....
We had Mexican food on Monday night and on Tuesday night we had Italian Food. Both places were excellent and delicious. We had never tried them before because we are such big fans of Jay's. Had my Risotto at the Italian restaurant!
Beach Terrace Inn. We were in the first building
on the left closest to the beach.
I saw a couple of Dolphins.....
I saw a Seal who was obviously lost....
I love watching the waves.....
We had the best of times, the weather was perfect!
These were from my phone.....
STOP .....
YOU MAY NOT WANT TO SEE THE NEXT PHOTOS!!
We had this guy in a thong who laid right in front
of our building who ruined our view one day.....
I kept the photos small for you.....your welcome!

i like all your photos and would love to walk that beach, i love the sound of the waves and sunshine and sand in my toes. our favorite beach is Maderia Beach in St Pete FL.. the first 5 years of our marraige, we lived 10 minutes away and spent every day off we had on that beach. there was a couple who were always there. he looked just like this man, except his thong was leopard print and his female companion had the same thong but had two little leopard triangles on just the write place up top. they strutted up and down the beach in front of all of us every time we went, back and forth ... i did not have a camera back then
I love the bird in the pool :)
Okay, I'll just ignore the thong guy. Ew. Lol The beach photos are wonderful and perfect to have the room with a view! It does sound amazing... all except for the having to watch football part. ;-)))) I'm so glad you had a great time and that management is smart enough to put chocolate shells in your room! Have a great weekend. xo
Oh my goodness would that be a dream come true for me - the water looked so clean and refreshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything looked so clean and refreshing except for thong man! heehee
haha on the last! love the ocean views!
Beautiful pics of the waves and the beach.
What was that man thinking!!!! Such a pretty view you had! And what a continental breakfast!! There is always something so magical with being so close like that to the ocean :) Looked look you had such a fantastic time!
betty
love the ocean, and dolphins.
What a great trip...
The guy though... UGH!
Sure enjoyed your beach photos, Debby...the guy in the thong, not so much. ;)
What a beautiful place.
Is there anything better than a 'real' Caesar salad (v. these often featured as an afterthought)?
Lovin' these images!
I enjoyed sharing your trip with you. Sounds great!
I like the seagull in the pool photos. Very fun!

I am glad you had a great time. What a gorgeous place, looks do relaxing. Yikes to the last pic, lol....Christine
Can't think of anything much better then time spent at the beach enjoying those BEAUTIFUL views...[well, except thong guy..goodness, lol]. Glad you enjoyed!
What a beautiful beach. But I showed the last photo to my fiancé and we both laughed heartily. WHAT was that guy thinking?
I can't remember the last time I walked on a nice warm beach. Perhaps I will have to convince my sister that it would be nice to have a holiday to the sun one day. As long as there are no thong-guys right in front of us, it should be okay!
That looks fantastic. Love the little sand piper :-)
Your photos are beautiful - I just love being at the beach, too! And getting away for a mini-vacation is always a treat. But, I'm afraid that if I had seen *Thong Man* out of my hotel window, I most likely would have thrown up my Continental breakfast. Just sayin'...
xo
What a beautiful beach and experience!!! I laughed out loud at the guy in the thong! What is wrong with people??? That breakfast looked great and so glad y'all had a good time!!
Your photos have given me "beach fever"...all except the one of the man in the thong!!!
I'm so glad you had a nice time on your trip :)

Hi Debby, When we lived in northern Ca. we went to Oceanside every year or so-really enjoyed it, but hate the traffic in So.Ca. Carlsbad outlets were so cool! I love the beach and we aren't going to the islands this year, so miss it. As for the sunbather-yuck! The other sites were lovely. Your breakfast buffet looked great too. Hope you have a fantastic evening.
Hugs,
Noreen
Loved, loved, loved your beach trip commentary. We are going to the beach the week of Memorial Day and I cannot wait! I stayed in the Santa Barbara area on the beach once....Cliff House Inn I think was the name and it was amazing. The Pacific coast is awesome. The PCH was one of my favorite trips ever. I have to laugh at thong man. That is so gross. I do not like them on either sex....but especially hate them on men. My daughter Kat when she was little called them balloon swim suits. Kids say the darndest things. Glad you had an amazing time. We will be going to the Smokey Mountains in a month for Spring Break....and I am so excited. There is something about packing for a trip that gives me a rush.
Wow what a beautiful beach! Well except for your unwanted visitor .. lol. That is just wrong!
