Volume 254
Thank you Joyce!
1. Describe love using all five senses.
When I see your face or you touch my arm, when I smell your cologne or hear you voice all I want to do is taste your sweet lips on mine......
2. February is Canned Food Month. What's your favorite food that comes straight from a can?
I am not big on canned foods although we have some in the house. I am guessing that it would have probably been a soup years ago or maybe a Hormel chili.
3. A principal in a UK school recently sent home a letter to parents requesting they(the parents!) dress appropriately when escorting their children to/from school (basically saying please don't wear your pajamas) You can read the letter here. It's gotten a lot of publicity, both positive and negative. Your thoughts? And do/did you ever make the school run (or hit Starbucks, Walmart, etc) in your pjs?

I have never gone out in my PJ's! I think if someone is in their car and we don't see them what difference does it make. If your actually walking your child to their class in your PJ's well that to me would be a NO!
4. Crew neck, V-neck, turtleneck, scoop neck...which is most prevalent in your wardrobe?
4. Crew neck, V-neck, turtleneck, scoop neck...which is most prevalent in your wardrobe?
Scoop neck for sure. I can't stand anything close around my neck. I like to wear blouses with collars.
5. I read here recently a list of four things to avoid so you wake up happier. They were late night snacks, hitting the snooze button, social media just before bed/upon waking, checking emails.
Are you guilty of any of these behaviors? Which on that list do you need to work harder at avoiding?

Probably a late night snack although I usually don't snack very late in the night.
6. Share something you remember about a house you lived in as a child? Of all the homes you lived in as a child, which did you love best?
6. Share something you remember about a house you lived in as a child? Of all the homes you lived in as a child, which did you love best?
I grew up in two homes but I was just a baby in the first one.
First house.....
Second house, lived here until I got married.
I think I remember the basement most of all. It was a fun place to play when the weather wasn't nice and it was a big one!
Also at one point we had a bathroom, open kitchen, bedroom, TV area and bed there. My mother's parents would come in from Florida for a few months each summer and stay with us. It was awesome. My grandmother was a great cook and made the best chocolate chip cookies.
You know this is a hard one to answer because there have been so many great movies. I was looking at this list to get some help.....
I will start with Schindler's List which is probably my favorite, also Eric Brockovich, Argo, Saving Private Ryan, and Frida. You also have awesome movies like McFarland USA, The Blindside, 42, Woodlawn and a movie called Spare Parts which I loved.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
When I mentioned Adam's 37th birthday two weeks ago I had put up a picture of him from awhile back. This was actually him on his birthday. He has gone with a more rugged look these days......

Hi,
#7 was a hard one for me too. I like so many true story movies. I picked 42. I think Harrison Ford is amazing in the movie.
I enjoyed McFarland USA too. Disney does a good job. I liked Saving Mr. Banks done by Disney as well, oh I could just go on and on. LOL
Loved your #1 :-))
Have a great week!!
Carla
I loved the simple PERFECT way you answered number 1! I too picked your top two movies, though agree there are MANY others I loved as well. Have a good day!
Saving Private Ryan! Another one I'd forgotten. I'm seeing lots of great titles in this answer today. Boys and their beards : ) Hubs let his grow out when he retired, and I liked the scruffy look on him, but once it became an actual beard I told him he was looking a little too much like Santa. His is almost white. That inspired him to shave and he looks about ten years younger without it. Younger men can get away with it. Your son is handsome. Hope he's doing well.
I enjoyed seeing pictures of your childhood homes and reading all of your answers for this weeks Hodgepodge.
Adam looks great with the beard :) You listed a lot of great movies in #7! I think houses with basements, especially if they are finished basements, are so much fun! Send the kids down there on a rainy or snowy day and they can play to their hearts' content. We had a basement in the house in Montana and son and his friends would always be down there when he had friends spend the night. They were less noisy down there :)
betty
Cute pic of handsome Adam! I like the memory of your grandparents moving in for a few months. How fun would that be! I hope you're having a good day, Debby. xo - Judy
I can see you like serious movies! I don't know about the best but I do know the movie that most impressed me that I saw in a theater was Forrest Gump. When I came out I was speechless. It was just that good the first time around.
I liked Saving Private Ryan and Erin B... can't say they are my favorites, but i can't think of a favorite that is based on a true story. K-9 and Hooch are my favorites.
love the grizzly look, like my hubby but his is white. i do none of the things listed in 5. V neck or Scoop, V is my favoriete. nothing with a collar or that touches my neck. i have been know to eat corn beef hash out of the can, before cooking. as for Love... in one word JAKE...
I so wish we had a house with a basement especially with the kids getting older.
Great pic of Adam :)
grizzly adam. :)
v-neck for me. i wish texas had basements. :)
Loved the simplicity and yet so accurate answer to #1. I haven't seen or even heard of some of the movies you mentioned. Where have I been, huh? Schindler's List, and I few others would also be favorites of mine if I could have remembered. Your grizzly Adam is still a handsome Adam. Have a great weekend, Debby.
#1 - Wow, so romantic!!
As to #3, I had to chuckle. Just the other day my hubby and I had to unexpectedly run out to check on a rental house that my sons own up here in the mountains. It was a cold and icy day, so I was planning to spend the day in my PJ's. Well, lazy girl that I am, and knowing that I wasn't going to see anyone, I just threw on my snow boots and down jacket, and ventured out like that! Hubby wasn't thrilled...
Sure saved some time when I got back home, though!
Hee hee...
:-)
What sweet memories you have of the houses you grew up in. Chocolate chip cookies have to be one of the best treats ever! Have a great rest of the week :)
I was once asked to pick up a friend and take her to the bus station very early in the morning. Since I had a late shift, I picked her up in my pj's and when I got back home, went straight back to bed!
As for the snooze button: guilty, but very often I don't even hear the alarm the first time round (I have three alarms to be on the safe side).
Hi! I like your saying for no. 1 :) I agree with the Pj thing. Unless it's pj day or something then totally fine. I should put a pic of my old house but sometimes it makes me sad and miss it.
I love the way you have answered question 1. Very creative!
I enjoyed reading your childhood memories :) I figured you'd have a great list of movies, and you did! My youngest son likes the "rugged look", too...

enjoyed your answer to question number 1
You had me at basement! (*chuckle*) I've never lived in a home that had a basement, but the notion is terribly intriguing.
Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan are two of my own 'very' favorites.
Happy Birthday to Adam! He looks handsome! You have great photo's of your childhood homes.
I still have McFarland USA on my DVR & cant wait to watch it
Beards are all the rage, aren't they?
I cant tell you how many kids would come into youth wearing pj bottoms - I dont get it. What has happened in today's world?
