Volume 261
Thank you Joyce!
1. What are two or three expectations you have of yourself?
I expect to de-clutter my life and live a less is more lifestyle. I expect to find peace and happiness too!
2. In what way does your outdoor space need sprucing up this spring?
We just recently took out our tall Purple Fountain Grass along the side fence. We now have five Oleander plants and five Hibiscus plants planted in the area.
I think the purple fountain grass looked amazing but it was a huge project each year to cut back. Wouldn't you know I couldn't find a photo to post.
3. According to this site (Roadtrippers), six of North America's most wondrous waterfalls are-Webster's Falls in Ontario, Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina, Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, Multnomah Falls in Oregon, The Lower Yellowstone Falls, and Niagara. Have you seen any on the list? Which one on the list would you most like to visit? Prettiest waterfall not on the list that you've seen in person
I have seen the Lower Yellowstone Falls and would love to see Niagara Falls some day!
Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite
4. Looking back, what's something you wish you'd done as a teenager?
I can't think of anything other than having more confidence in myself.
5. Ham...yes please or no thank you? If you said yes please which of the following do you like best-baked ham with all the trimmings, a ham and cheese sandwich, prosciutto with melon, a ham biscuit, a bowl of split pea and ham soup, or a slice of pizza topped with ham and pineapple?
Ham is okay but we seldom eat it now. Truth be told almost every time we ate at my aunt and uncles house over a 15 year period she would always make ham. We just got burnt out on it. So when Easter comes around we make a Prime Rib. Actually I can't remember the last time I had ham.
6. Are you typical of your generation? How so?
I am a Baby Boomer "a person born in the years following World War II, when there was a temporary marked increase in the birth rate" but I can't say I ever paid attention to what it meant. I just read this article so maybe we have been typical of our generation!
"Due to their tremendous numbers, "baby boomers" became a tremendously powerful influence in the world due to their buying power and influence on popular culture. Schools needed to be built to house the baby boomers. Real estate markets went parabolic when baby boomers started buying house. Market indexes soared when baby boomers started investing in the markets. The baby boomers are, without a doubt, one of the most influential generations in the history of the world. As of January 1st, 2011, more than 10,000 baby boomers are hitting the age of 65 each and every day."
7. April rolls in at the end of the week, and in keeping with that theme...'act the fool', 'nobody's fool', 'a fool's errand', 'could have fooled me'...which foolish idiom most recently applies to you? Explain.
I'm going to say 'nobody's fool' because over the years I've unfortunately learned not to put my trust in anyone. (Except God)
8. Insert your own random thought here.

nice hodgepodge.
Ah, the cupcakes/no pants days are unfortunately a bit more numerous than the salad/gym days. Better not say any more on that subject...
I love your random one; that is so true! I like ham about once a year on Easter, haven't had it for a few years though, might have to remedy that. Growing up we always had ham on Easter and Christmas and then sandwiches for the next few days afterwards.
That was interesting about the baby boomers; I'm one of them too. As we start to retire in the next few years, I wonder if that is going to open up the job market more in some fields.
betty
I agree with you on #7. I don't think it's cynicism, but wisdom. And I forgot all about Bridalveil Falls at Yosemite. I've seen that one too. :-) Have a great day, Debby. xo
Bridal veil falls looks gorgeous and I have always wanted to visit that park. I would like to know more about the hibiscus plants. Are they perennials? I do know what purple fountain grass is and I like it. I may get some for our yard. Would love to have hibiscus.
Prime rib sounds very tasty to me! I am not crazy about ham.
Today would definitely be a cupcake day for me - I am so hungry! lol
I hope your new plants that replaced the fountain grass do well this year.
I love your balance saying at the bottom!!!!!!!!!!! So true.
You are always working on clutter - lol.
I would love peace and harmony too.
I need to do some yard work too! \
Love, sandie
Haha! I have too many cupcakes days and not enough salad days ;) Have a great rest of the week :)
The trick is to have six salad days for every cupcake day : ) I am a big fan of prime rib and would be fine with that on Easter too. We always have a big crowd, and ham is easy for a big crowd. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Bridalveil Falls is just beautiful, Debby. I love your random thought...spot on! Have a great Wednesday!:))
Loving your "random" thought!
I'm embarrassed to admit, I'd never heard of Purple Fountain grass. Google to the rescue! I can see where you'd be sad to say adieu to it.
Peace, harmony and NO clutter sounds like heaven!
I love Oleander and Hibiscus, so I'd love your fence area :)
I need to join you in the decluttering, but it's hard!!!
I love your random thought. That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it:)
Kathy (Reflections)
Love your random thought, how funny! Good luck with the decluttering and scaling back. We all need to do that for sure!
I hope you do find that peace and happiness. And, when you do, please send some my way. :) I trust two people. Sad, isn't it? The search I conducted puts me in the baby boomer generation too. But I am not like anything that I've read. I'm the lost generation. LOL
I wish I had more confidence back then too
LOL. Now that is a balance I can live with Debby.
Hi,
I agree with the confidence. I am trying to teach my boys to have more than I did. I still can struggle with having confidence.
Have a great April Fools.
Carla
Hi Debby,
I don't make it by here as often as I should.
However, you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
I love waterfalls and getting behind the stream. so cool...
Love your random thought and your answer to #1.
I liked the eclectic nature of this hodgepodge, and found your answers interesting. I got a chuckle out of your random thought quote - too true.
And, ham and pineapple pizza - hands down. (Speaking of refusing to put on pants...)
xo
I so need to declutter, i keep grabbing and collecting things LOL
