~ American Idol Farewell Season Finale ~
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Here is my story of how I got to see the America Idol Finale. Back in 2012 my blog friend Sandie in Georgia told me I should start to follow Ann because she was moving from Florida to California. So of course I went over and followed her blog.
Ann doesn't blog much anymore but is on Facebook, the same with Sandie, but I have become great email Pen Pals with both of them. I've been emailing about life stuff with Ann since 2013. It is amazing how you can become best friends with someone you have never meet.
That was of course until yesterday when I met Ann in person and she is the one that got the ticket for me to see the American Idol Finale with her. I couldn't talk about it in advance because up until noon on Thursday we didn't know yet!
So Ann was texting me while I was at bowling and she had a very interesting time in line meeting up with some of Trent's family members who were looking to see if anyone had extra tickets and Ann did!
So I left after bowling and meet up with Ann at the California Pizza Kitchen there at the Dolby Theater and we had lunch before we headed into the theater for the live 5 pm taping.
It was so wonderful to meet her in person and we will definitely be meeting up again. If you follow me on Facebook and you see me post about a movie I am seeing you will almost always see Ann's comment because she is a huge moviegoer too!!!!
What a night! The show was amazing. I got a couple of pictures that are pretty clear. You couldn't have your phone/camera out during taping and of course everyone gets on and off the stage pretty quickly so you don't really get a chance to get a photo of them.
We were way, way, way up high and it was rather difficult at times to know exactly what idol it was from the past. Even though there were two very large screens which they use for close up shots of the stars during The Oscars, they didn't use them during the show. So what you saw on TV (which I watched Thursday evening when I got home) with their names by them.....was often at times a mystery to us.
However, that didn't make it any less wonderful and fabulous to be present for the Farewell Season Finale of American Idol.
We did not get showered with confetti.
This photo was right after the taping finished.....

Just a little information that you might find interesting. A few things are taped in advance prior to the show like when you saw Jennifer Hudson sing, that was taped in advance and we watched it one of those big screens just like you did at home only at home you think it is live! Same with Jennifer Lopez, that performance was also taped in advance.
Thank you Ann for an amazing evening and thank you
American Idol for all the wonderful years.....
P.S. To my blog readers......yesterday I accidentally cleared my Feedly reader so I may have missed a post of yours.

I'm so happy that you got to be there! What an amazing night of entertainment history & DEBBY WAS THERE!!!!!
and NOW I can say I knew someone who went to the finale. what a great gift from Ann. i did not know that about the taping and said several times to Bob while watching it, how do they do all that and clear the stage and get it back to where it was. it was the best finale show they have ever had. and i loved see all the people from the past and how much they had changed/matured... and boy did Simon/Paula.Randy mature.. they seemed not all that happy about being there. i loved the show the most when they were the judges. OH NO not Feedly.... hope you can find every one..
very awesome.
How exciting to see a show like that live! Shame you couldn't always make out who was on stage though, but I guess you saw it afterwards again on telly anyway.
Whoa! You are a part of American history!!! whoop! so happy for you!!!!!
How exciting that you got to be a part of this! So happy for you. You know, I have never watched that show.
I am glad you blogged about this. I saw your Facebook mention that you were there, sounds like it was so much fun! That was interesting about Jennifer Lopez' performance. I would have thought it was live. What a memory you will have for a long time and so neat you got to meet a friend face to face.

I recorded it and watched it. Loved reminiscing about past winners. Strange about those prerecorded acts though. Was Carrie Underwood live?
I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am jealous in a good way. I knew you two lived close together and I am so so so so happy!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that you become friends. Maybe someday I will get out to LA and get to meet you both. America Idol - the last one how cool is that???????????????? I am so excited for you both.
How neat is that?! So wonderful to meet an online friend in person and how much fun to go to the American Idol Finale together. We watched it on TV and I am thrilled that Trent won!
The highlight was definitely meeting you, Debby! I felt so lucky to go to such a fun event with a good friend. Now we are friends in RL and I look forward to our next adventure!
Going home and watching the show was almost as fun since, as you said some of the people were hard to identify. Carrie Underwood was there live and I was thrilled to hear her in person for the first time!! Hugs, Ann
Now, THAT'S something to remember forever!
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that God thought you could use a little "lift" and put Ann in your path. (And the rest, as they say is history.) Blog friends are the best!
What a great show it was and it must have been fantastic to be there in person. Glad you had that experience.
Yippee! How fun! That is a special memory :-) Thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm glad you got to be there - we never did watch that show.
Wow! What a fabulous time you two had!
Wow...Debby, American Idol is a favorite and I can believe you were able to be there! Memory making for sure...
Yes Sandie! You were the one who connected me with someone "local"! You will never know how much I appreciated it. Though Debby And I didn't meet until just last week, I always felt that I had a friend here I could count on.
If you visit, Debby and I will certainly treat you to a day of fun!! Ann TBL
I think she was out there for me ❤️
That is beyond awesome!! I was just thrilled that Princess Nagger spent the hours on the couch with me watching the last two episodes after they were made available on Hulu. ;) We voted for Trent (knowing the La'Porsha would no doubt secure a contract, which she did!) :) So very exciting YOU WERE THERE!! Ann seems like an awesome kind of friend to have! :)
Isn't that crazy how they make it seem like those performances were live.
So was Jennifer Hudson even there?
I told you that you were both wonderful! I knew it.
Oh, wow! How wonderful that you got to experience this in person! I know you were beyond excited, 'cause I would've been :)
Hi, How fun is it to meet other blogs friends in the flesh and also spend a wonderful evening together. I used to watch A.I., still love Keith, but started watching the Voice instead. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your friend.
Hugs,
Noreen
