Volume 267
Thank you Joyce.
1. How should success be measured? Using that as your standard, who is the most successful person you know? (Or one of the most successful?)
I'm not sure how to answer this. I want to say contentment and happiness. I found THIS article with a Google search and I like several from it:
Success is having a place to call home - Success is believing you can - Success is taking care of your needs - Success is loving and being loved back......as far as picking a person I'm not sure who I would pick.

2. Have you ever been to a hot air balloon launch/fest/party? Ever taken a ride in a hot air balloon? Is that on your bucket list? According to Frommers the ten best hot air balloon adventures in the world are-
Loire Valley (France), the Serengeti (Tanzania), Napa Valley (California), Lake Champlain (Vermont), Cappadocia (Turkey), Istria (Croatia), Gstaad (Switzerland), Yarra Valley (Australia), Muelle (Costa Rica), and Albuquerque (New Mexico).
Which one on the list would you most like to experience?
I have not been at a launch/fest/party and have not taken a ride in one. I wouldn't mind trying it sometime and why not go to France's Loire Valley to do that!
3. May 25th is National Brown-Bag It Day. Did you/will you pack a lunch today? When did you last pack a lunch for someone and what are your go-to ingredients for a brown bag lunch?
Oh my, I don't think I've packed a brown bag lunch since the kids were in school. I don't have any go-to ingredients but I do know they would be a lot healthier today then 20 years ago!
4. What's one of your favorite dance scenes from a movie or television show?
It has to be from Dirty Dancing but I have to say that there are awesome dance scenes in Singin' in the Rain.
Also a cute scene in a movie, doing that famous Dirty Dancing move, would be in Crazy, Stupid, Love where Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone do the lift.....(start around 3:00 minutes)

5. John F. Kennedy made famous the line, '...Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." So what can you do for your country?
I have something I would like to say but I would only make people angry so I am going to go with recycling because I think it is important!

6. Weekends are made for ________.
Friday night is pizza night and a movie. Saturday is for relaxing, cooking a nice meal and watching another DVD's from Netflix. Of course if you ask Mark he would be doing trimming and puttering around in the yard all weekend.

success to me is being alive and kicking.. i brown bagged mine and hubbies lunches. his last was 18 years ago mine was 10 years ago when we retired... we never go anywhere to take a lunch... and we really did use brown bags... i have nothing to comment on the others. the questions today i drew a blank on
I like that article about success. Success can be measured in so many ways too so it was nice they had different things listed there. I was never so happy when the kids got into high school and daughter preferred to make her own lunch and son wanted to buy the lunch at school. It was always challenging trying to figure out what to pack for them that they wouldn't get bored with.
I like to see hot air balloons, just not sure I would ever want to take a ride in one of them. I have seen the balloon festival in Albuquerque though; that was really neat.
I bet Mark finds it relaxing puttering around in the yard; I have a friend in the San Diego area whose husband is a lawyer; he enjoys weekends and evenings when he can taking care of their yard; probably a good stress reducer :)
betty
That cake looks downright tasty...no calories or fat grams, right? ;)Like you, I don't think I've packed a lunch since Abby was in high school. Hope you have yourself a fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend, Debby!
I love Gene Kelly and Dancin' in the Rain!!! I forgot all about it, or it would have been on my list. I loved your random, and don't forget, that would be a lemon Oreo! LOL
Love your answers.
I also love hot air balloons- now I don't know about taking one but I love looking at one.
I think everyone's definition of success is different. To me I think it is being happy and loving God. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it is huge.
Have a good day!
Sandie
Haha or a Reese's.
That sums it up.
Your hodgepodge Wednesday is always a delight. The questions and answers so random and enjoyable to read.
Oh, my! Happiness, for me, would be eating a slice of that delicious-looking birthday cake :)
You always manage to find the cutest random thoughts. I love them.

Hopping over from Joyce's---enjoyed your answers and what a cute blog design. smiles
I'm coming to your house for Friday nights :) That ice cream cake looks delicious. Have a wonderful weekend.
I miss some things about having young children in the house, but packing lunches is not one of them : ) Have a great long weekend!
sadly, i pack a lunch 3 nights a week. no oreo cookie ice cream cake in it, though. :)
That Oreo cake has my name on it! lol
I like your special plans for Fridays and Saturdays. Pizza is not good for John (diabetic), but occasionally we visit our fav pizza place, located in a grand old Victorian home.
Hope you will have a restful evening.
I just packed my last three lunches for a couple of months! Today school is out for the summer.
Hi Debby, Great answers! I haven't been in a hot air balloon other than one that was tethered to the ground; I have been in a glider-plane flying over the Napa Valley.
Hope you have a great day!
Hugs,
Noreen
Great answers p, although I would be interested in hearing what you really have to say in response to JFK's quote. 😆 Ice cream cake! Yummy.
Lovin' your reply to #1 ... especially the part about loving and being loved in return.
Ever so subtly - and initially against my will! - I've climbed aboard the recycling bandwagon. Drives hubby nuts!
PS - I, too, would be interested in knowing your 'real' thoughts about JFK's quote!
I enjoyed your answers this morning. With respect to #5 I would urge you to share your opinions even if there's a chance that someone might take offense or get angry, especially on the Hodgepodge. I can't imagine anyone who participates in the Wednesday Hodgepodge responding to a post in an ugly fashion. You probably would find several kindred spirits. I love your random thought, almost as much as I love (Insert Cookie Monster voice here) C O O K I E S ! ! ! I hope that you have a pleasant Memorial Day weekend.
OMGosh I love that Oreo cake .. YUMM
Good answers.
I've always wanted to go in a hot air balloon.
Loved your answers. I am not up for the hot air balloon....ever...it is a height thing for me.
Look at those abs on Ryan! :)
I so love those cakes, always hope someone will buy me one ... lol
