Join in the fun.....
Thank you Joyce!
1. It's National Waffle Day (August 24th)...what decision are you currently 'waffling over'? (or share one you've recently 'waffled over')
Nothing specific. Have been giving some thoughts to getting a puppy. It's been a hard year and I need a boost. Of course after being in the hospital this week the thought of a puppy is way in the future because of my strength and energy right now. Mark doesn't have the same waffling feelings I do!

2. It's the middle of August, but I'm already seeing lots of autumn-related posts. Do you think we rush the seasons? If so, does that bother you? I saw (here) an end of summer bucket list that included-
make s'mores, read a new (or favorite) book in the park, eat something delicious and bad for you at a state fair, be a tourist for the day, have a pot luck picnic, book a last minute summer getaway, relax by or in the pool, take a hike to watch the sunset, have a day on the lake, try a new summer recipe
Which activities on the list might you squeeze in before summer officially comes to a close?
Yes I do think we rush the season's although it is not necessarily us but merchandiser's but after working at Hallmark for 7 years it is just the process of time and filling the shelves with the next holiday. I will probably read a new book and maybe sit by our pool in our community.

3. Your favorite summertime 'art' found in nature?
I am going to go with watching the butterflies in our yard and the amazing amount of hummingbirds we have this year coming to our flowers.
Speaking of that I watched a movie on TV in the hospital that was so amazing. Wings of Life narrated by Meryl Streep. (IMDb) (Disneynature) So many things would not be here without the flower!!
4. Stephen R. Covey is quoted as saying 'We judge ourselves by our intentions, and others by their actions.' Agree or no? Do you define yourself based on your intentions, your actions, or something else?
I am going to disagree but mainly because I just read this quote: "You think you're a good guy because of you base yourself of your intentions; while the whole world is reacting to your actions. The results in your life today are based on your actions yesterday." Actually I tend to base myself on my actions.

5. Are you useful in a crisis? Elaborate.
I believe I can be. My mind works pretty hard at working out a solution to a problem and finding the right words to say to those in need of comfort.

6. What's been your go-to dish this summer? Is it something you'll continue making as the seasons change?
I don't think we have had one this summer other than our usual tradition of Friday night pizza. We started with Home Run Inn Pizza from Chicago over a year ago which we can buy at Sprout's.
They are the most amazing frozen pizza on the market. Saves us a ton of money compared to ordering and having something delivered. Yes of course that will continue......

7. Adult coloring books are a thing now. Have you jumped on the bandwagon? If not is this something you think you might enjoy?
I have but I haven't colored a lot yet. I bought the books right away. I have two tiny travel ones that I started to color in. Just worked on one in the hospital.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
If you follow me on Facebook you will know that I went to the hospital on Sunday. I hadn't felt well since returning home from our exhausting trip to New York. Heck I still haven't posted about Florida in June so it may be awhile before I get NYC blogged. I will be writing a post about the hospital because I like to keep a journal here!
I have new issues which I will explain. Blessings for the timing which I believe in strongly. So besides my COPD/Asthma I now have Atrial Fibrillation of the heart. Anyway I am home and will be working on breathing treatments, resting and getting accustomed to the new medications this week.
As bad as it may sound there is hope for a better way of life for me. Heart vs Lungs.....they both can give you shortness of breath and figuring out which it is at the time!!! Seeing the new doctor next Tuesday because we have work to do.......
I do have to miss opening day of bowling this week but have high hopes of being there next week.

Are you on a blood thinner now that you have AFib, Debby? I am glad you went to get checked out and hope in time you feel better. I think puppies are great, but you are right, they can be energetic and take up a lot of energy, might be good to wait for a bit to reconsider. We are doing the same though whenever I see a corgi, I do waffle a bit. I will have to look for those pizzas at Sprouts.
Betty
sorry to hear about the hospital visit. now you have two things to juggle. the good news about AFIB is that it is treatable with drugs, not something anyone would want. I have 3 friends who have it and they have done well on the meds, prayers that you will to. it is an adjustment to the meds. and if they are putting you on blood thinner, think about a puppy, you will bleed really bad. also on the puppy, makes it hard to travel. we don't travel because of Jake.
I waffle on every thing I do, except I call it weighing pros and cons until I give myself a headache. I bought a coloring book, and colored for about 10 minutes and nearly died of boredom, I put it and the pencils away and forgot they were there until now. maybe I need to give them to someone. I do know several who really love to do it.
Dropping by from Joyce's blog. Sorry to hear you have been in the hospital. Good blessings to you! I love what you wrote about actions verses intentions! Hope you have a good rest of the week!!
I'm glad you're getting some answers and hope you continue to feel better. Rest and take your time with getting back in the swing of things. My hubs would have a dog here today if I gave the okay-ha! I'm not there yet.
Sorry to hear you a have been in the hospital. But I am glad you are home ♥
All the best with healing ♥

So sorry to hear you were in the hospital but glad they found out what was wrong. It seems like so many people I know are being diagnosed with A Fib. Hope you adjust to the medicine and feel better real soon.
What a frightening few days you experienced, Debby. Thank God for modern medicine diagnostics!
Being the dog lover I am, I hate to say so, but adopting a puppy right now sounds a bit much. No doubt, it's antics would fill your days with (therapeutic) laughter, but I sure learned my lesson when we adopted two litter mates, right in the middle of DH's cancer treatments. Lawdy ...
I have been wondering where you were. I'm sorry to hear that you've been laid up, but glad they are working on getting you straightened out. Take care of yourself. My husband has COPD and also has experienced the Afib. I hope you are on the road to recovery and feeling yourself back to normal soon.
Hey friend! I've been seeing your posts on Facebook and saw that you had been in the hospital. What a terrible ending to a bucket list vacation, huh? I hope you are feeling better each day; thinking of you!!
I didn't realize you'd been in the hospital. I'm so happy you're well enough to be back at home. Take care of yourself.

Do they have you on a blood thinner and if so and you need it checked regularly DO IT.
I am glad you have gotten where you feel better. You have a great attitude.
And a puppy??????????????????????????????????
butterflies and hummingbirds...can't go wrong.
Glad to hear you are home from the hospital and doing better. A puppy can be a big step. We are dealing with our grand-dogger right now. This is not something we planned for and it is definitely a lot harder to deal with on top of our health issues.
I hope that you're going to be okay, Debby. I'm sorry that you had to be in the hospital. I have COPD and asthma, too. Also sorry that you have Afib to deal with, too. Neither are any fun. I hope that the doctor will be able to help you and that you're able to work through everything and be fine. You're in my prayers.
Have a blessed weekend.
My cousin is in the hospital (ICU) right now with his COPD and they think he's had a stroke. Not that I'm not thinking of him but YOU popped into my head. YOU TAKE CARE! I mean it!
Hospital visits are no fun but necessary.
No way would i get a puppy personally. Jax wore us out! Lila was mature when we adopted her. Any chance you can get an older dog from the pound?
First of all: I hope you will feel better soon!
As for summer versus autumn: no choice here in Norway. The calendar says summer, but the weather says (screams really) autumn! We have had so much water today, it seemed as if I was driving through a lake this morning. Quite fun though.
Oh no! I sure hope you feel better!
Dear friend, Sorry to read this and I'm praying you feel better soon. I have missed you. Like you, I love to watch the butterflies and hummers in the yard. Also, the birds have been very active since our weather has cooled slightly. Wishing you a blessed weekend. Take care. xo
I'm sorry about the new health troubles.
It's in the 90's here so I can't think about autumn yet.
Sorry to read that you are having some health concerns. Glad that God is on the case and that you have good docs who will get you back on track and feeling much better.
There are so many things that I have left on the table so to speak. No one will care when you get to the trips you have taken. You can trot them out months from now. Take care!
So sorry that you are having health issues. I hope that you have better doctors than our son and dil had.
Sending you lots of love and light for your health issues. Hospital visits aren't much fun when it's for something like that.
I'm glad I saw on FB you got back to bowling. Take it easy my friend :)
