So I started this post awhile back and now it is three months since we visited The Ringling. I have no more words to say and I believe I covered everything.
I haven't even looked at my photos from New York yet! Getting sick changes things and when I was in Florida I was most likely already ill but didn't know the extent of it at the time.
On June 24th, our wedding anniversary, we went to The Ringling in Sarasota, Florida. As you know I was in Florida visiting my dad, celebrating his 93rd birthday on the 25th and visiting family. Mark was in town and so was Adam.
We had a really nice day and if you are ever in Sarasota I recommend that your visit The Ringling. The Circus Museum was really fun. We walked around the grounds, walked through their home and the art museum.
Mad Snapper had the best photo.....HERE
She has a lot of posts worth looking at!
Their mansion on the waterfront.
Nightlight designed after the leaded windows on their home. Just had to have one for myself!
The Art Museum
Love the turtle on the fountain!
I spotted this in town and we stopped by after The Ringling. I love it! You can read the link above the photo. It was originally placed in Sarasota in 2005. Head on over and read the rest of the story on this awesome sculpture.
After the Ringling we had a very special Anniversary dinner with Adam who treated us! We went to the Columbia Restaurant for some Cuban food. We had a really nice time and the food was delicious. Thanks again Adam.
The next day we celebrated my dad's 93rd birthday with the family. It was a fun evening with pizza, dessert and presents!
Adam with his grandpa.....
And this special moment when my dad got to speak to his great granddaughter Amanda who was in France. He was so amazed that he could see her on the phone and talk with her. It was so precious and special to all of us.......
After I got home from Florida I went to the The Ringling store online to buy that nightlight and a poster I wanted. It was way easier than bringing them home. So the poster came and it was dented. I of course bitched about it and was sent another one. We finally put it into a frame yesterday and hung it in my office. (sorry about the reflection in the photo)

Well I know you had a nice birthday with your dad - the circus looks like fun - don't know if I will ever get there so it was great to see your photos. Isn't there a clown school there too? Glad you got your health taken care of!
I would love to visit there some day. Some of that stuff looks familiar since I remember seeing them on Sandra's blog.
From the picture I never would have guessed your dad was 93. Sounds like you had a really good time
What fun! You got great pictures. We have never taken our boys to the circus. It's just heard to justify the expense for a family of five on a budget. Maybe one day though!
Ringling looks very interesting. I work with a teacher who worked (as a teacher) for Ringling. She got to see a lot of the country and meet some interesting people!
I haven't been to the circus since our kids were young - what fun and happy birthday dad!
Such a wonderful time you had♥ Nice and happy photos ♥

Ok, I have never even heard of The Ringling, and now I want to go!!! The pic's of the home remind me of our beloved Biltmore Estate in NC. I love seeing your dad facetiming his great granddaughter..... priceless!!!
you took photos of all the things I love the most, that kitchen is one of my favorite places. I have been there 5 times over the years and never get tired of it. but I see only part not all in one visit. love your poster and night light. the leaded glass in the house windows are amazing... your dad's pie cake is so cute and so is he talking to France. thanks for the link..
Oh my goodness, I loved this post! I love the circus, and I so enjoyed your photos of The Ringling - the circus things and the home tour. Nice job on representing this wonderful place.
And your daddy - he's just precious. A Happy Birthday to him, and many more!
GOD BLESS!
Gosh, the last time I visited the Ringling Museum was in '59 or '60 with my cousins ...chasing all over the place like a bunch of wild horses, and probably driving our childless Uncle Lu crazy. (He and Aunt Bert were honorary members of the circus family, "Show Folks.")
All the time I lived in the Tampa/St. Pete area and never made it a point to eat at the Columbia. Glad Adam showed you such a special time!
The Ringling looked so interesting .I think I mentioned that my niece graduated from the college down there this past May. What a special time you had in Florida; glad you did get the poster that you did and that you were finally able to hang it up in your office :) Your dad looks great for being 93 years old!
betty
what a wonderful time it looks like you had. I always enjoyed the circus as a kid. Special time with dad is something you should cherish my own dad left this world many years ago and well I miss him every day. The memories you make look awesome and so much fun,
I enjoyed all of your pics very much. Nice to see your Dad so happy. The poster looks great framed. Take care. God bless you.
Your Dad looks amazing to be 94. We've been to this museum and enjoyed it so much. My brother lived in Sarasota for several years and we went during that time.
You're right, getting sick does make a difference. So glad things are heading in a better direction. I love the poster you got. I've never been a fan of the circus but the museum does look interesting!
Even though there is a circus in town every year, I can't remember the last time I actually went to one. The museum sounds great though and the family did well for themselves looking at that mansion!
