Wow, I started this post before I flew to Florida on January 22nd. I had planned on finishing it while at my dads but I never found the time.
I have a few more movies to see before the Academy Awards which air on Sunday February 26th. Hopefully I will see a few this coming week.
Tomorrow the BAFTA awards are on the BBC. They are very similar to our Academy Award show.
I loved Hidden Figures. What a fabulous piece of history. If you get a chance you need to see this movie. It has a great cast too!
"The story of a team of African-American women mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the US space program."
I really enjoyed Arrival, I thought it was very interesting and it kept my interest the whole time. I was however expecting to get something out of it but I didn't. I do believe it is worth seeing.
"When twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world, linguistics professor Louise Banks is tasked with interpreting the language of the apparent alien visitors."
I really loved Lion. It was a great story. I also love Dev Patel and the whole cast was great.
"A five-year-old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia; 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family."
Mark and I went to see Live by Night. We were so impressed with Ben Affleck's last movie "The Accountant" that we were excited to see his newest one.
This one was no where as good as the other movie but I did find it rather interesting. It was fun seeing what went on in Tampa back in the day of prohibition. I am always amazed with the props they have in Hollywood.
"A group of Boston-bred gangsters set up shop in balmy Florida during the Prohibition era, facing off against the competition and the Ku Klux Klan."

They all sound like pretty good movies.
I've not even heard of a couple of these. However, I would like to see Hidden Figures. Thanks for the reviews Debby. I hope you get to see the others that you want. Have a great weekend.
Good reviews of them. With our schedules these days its hard to get to a movie, so I do enjoy reading what you have seen.

I'm curious to see Hidden Figures, yes. But "A Dog's Purpose" will be first and foremost ... tomorrow, I hope. Have you seen Patriot Day? I was hoping to enjoy it more ....
I am curious - did you see La La Land? I liked it and I didn't like it - teehee.
And I hope the Oscars won't be all political statements - I will have to turn it off. I am so tired of it all.
Have a good weekend.
Love, sandie
I would like to see Lion, Arrival and Hidden Figures.
Thank you for the reviews.
Carla
