WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 309
~Thank you Joyce~

1. What makes you feel accomplished? Explain.

Getting my house clean makes me feel accomplished. Getting all the birthday cards for the month out and ready to go makes me feel accomplished. Cooking a great meal makes me feel accomplished.

2. If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? Tell us why.

Let me just start by saying that I would love my own talk show. I love asking people questions. As far as guest go that's a good question! John Travolta - Prince William - Emma Stone

3. Do you have a great burger recipe? What's in it? What do you like on a hamburger and where is your favorite spot to order one out?

No I don't. We have always loved a hamburger made with just ground beef. If I wanted added things to it then I would just make a meatloaf. What I like on my burger depends on where I am. If I make a burger at home I like it with just cheese.

We like Red Robin, I get it lettuce wrapped with everything it comes with. At Five Guys I usually get a bowl, no bun, with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and tomato on a bed of lettuce.  Also In-N-Out Burger is pretty yummy too!

4. What's the biggest anxiety producing thing you do on a regular basis?

Life....is that good enough? Right now I will go with doctor's appointments. There are way too many going on these days and they cause me anxiety.

5. This is the last Hodgepodge of May. Tell us about your summer plans.

We have house guests coming on the 8th. Then we have Adam and Gabby's Couples Shower party on June 10th. They are expecting 80 people! On the 15th I am heading to Florida to spend 17 days with my dad. I will be celebrating Father's Day with him and his 94th birthday on June 25th!

Edited: Forgot to mention that we plan to visit with Amber and Dylan again in Montana. I also hope to get my knee replacement!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Two views of our new floors in the family room.

Carpeting for the front two bedrooms will
be installed sometime this week.

At Red Robin, I usually have the petite burger or the cobb salad...
Sometimes, at home, I mix a little Barbecue sauce and Dales steak sauce with the meat but sometimes just use the pre made frozen patties

Your floors are just stunning! Several people have mentioned Red Robin, but we don't have any around here that I know of. We do have Five Guys and In 'n Out Burgers which we do like and the price is right for them. Wow, big shower! I am sorry life is stressing you out right now. Praying you will be able to get through the things causing your anxiety and have peace.

Okay I am with you love a clean house. I love your new floor. Hey did you watch the Princess Diana show a couple weeks ago - the last 100 days. I was disappointed - it was more about her lovers - she did a lot of good too! Love, sandie

I haven't eaten at Red Robin for ages, but they do have great food.

I love having a clean house too. It never lasts long enough.

Love your new flooring.

My aunt loves to ask people questions, too. She's so good at small talk and, the next thing you know, she's got a new friend because she is genuinely interested in knowing about others. I'm not like that. I wish I was. Goodness! Your summer is going to be BUSY! And FUN! We have a June 25th birthday, too. But he's only going to be 64. :) I know I told you this via FB but I do LOVE that new floor!

Doctor's appointments give me anxiety, too :(
It sounds like you have a busy, fun summer planned. I can hardly believe it's time for your dad's birthday already. I'm so glad he's still here to celebrate :)
Your floors look very nice. Enjoy!

You have a great family room!

I hope that all goes well with the couples shower and that you have great visit with the kids.

I hope that your daddy is okay and that you have a fun visit with him. Please be sure to give him a happy birthday hug for me. You are so blessed. :)

Hi Debby, I love your floors-they are beautiful as is your decor. So welcoming and warm. My daughter and her family have pulled up all their carpet and old wood floors and are putting hickory in....so much work.
Have a great evening.
Hugs,
Noreen

Hope you have a great visit with your dad. Your burger choices sound similar to our youngest daughter. She hates bread so she usually orders burgers without it. We get a lot of funny looks over it. At our local What-A-Burger, one of the cooks is a fried of mine. He likes to tell her to challenge him.

Jose has come up with some pretty amazing things to surprise and delight her.

We love Red Robin's burgers (and onion rings!), too!
80 attendees at the shower? My word, are y'all going to need parking valet(s)?

The new floors look mighty inviting!

I think I'd feel accomplished if I could get my house clean. A friend came over this evening, and I saw it through her eyes. Every single room was one hot mess. I was mortified; she was very chill about it. I need to get busy!

Talk show guests. If possible I would love to talk to some family members now deceased. My step-cousin once removed (who died in a Japanese Prisoner of War Camp while working on the famous Railway in Thailand/Birma). My maternal grandmother to ask her more about her life as a young woman. And last but not least, my maternal great great grandmother who had about 12/13 children of which only four survived beyond the age of 2 and then died herself aged 37.

If they have to be alive: John Corbett (his voice, he can just read the phone book out loud!), Jasper Fforde (a British author, who writes absolutely brilliant books) and Peter Capaldi (the current Doctor Who).
