Thank you Joyce
1. When was the last time you chatted with a neighbor? About what? (sharing that last bit is optional)
Extremely rare occurrence in our neighborhood.
2. River, lake, ocean, or waterfall...which one are you most like and why?
I'm going to say that I am a waterfall of emotions these days!
3. July 13 is National Delaware Day. Ever been to Delaware? Delaware is called 'the first state' because it was the first to declare independence from the British. What's your state's nickname and does that moniker make sense to you? If you were in charge, what nickname would you give your home state?
No I have never been to Delaware. California is known as The Golden State and it makes sense to me.
My home state is Illinois and it is known as The Prairie State which is okay with me but some people call it The Land of Lincoln which I think is better than The Prairie State!
4. What dish did you contribute to the last pot luck meal you attended? Do you have a go-to recipe for pot luck suppers?
We had a pot luck at the end of our bowling season and I brought a salad. I live about 25 miles from where I bowl and sometimes it takes 45+ minutes to get there so I never bring a warm dish.
I would make a new dish that we love called Easy Chicken Provolone if I lived closer. It is a big hit around here!
5. What is your number one tip for a brand new parent?
Sleep when the baby sleeps.....
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Chatting with neighbors isn't something that happens around here either. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves around here.
I tend to avoid my neighbors because they are difficult to get away from, if we ever strike up conversation. LOL is that bad??
no chatting with neighbors hardy ever.. I think it would be maybe 5 years ago when a neighbor died. it has been 15 years since I took a dish anywhere, but back when we used to, I always took green fluff because it was easy and sugar free. all the people with diabetes loved it because they could eat it and the others had no idea it was sugar free.
forgot to say Florida is The Sunshine State and that is why we love it. the past week or so it could be the Lightning and Thunder state but only once a day
We need to meet more neighbors. We wave but that is about it. Good advice for new parents, got to get the rest when you can. I printed out that recipe you shared before. I plan to make it in the fall when the weather cools down.

Love your random thought. Very funny, yet very very true!
I never slept when the babies did because I'm muddled after a nap and because I used the time to clean up a bit. I get anxious when there's a mess so cleaning was better for me than napping. :) I try to avoid one neighbor here and they're the ones I alway see. Drives me nuts. LOL
I like California's nickname. :-)
How is dad doing?
Debby, we gave the same advice to new parents :)
I like your random thought, and have felt that way a few times in my life, too.
Take care,
Kathy
Good advise for a new parent. I seem to be talking to our neighbors more this summer than the 20 some years we've lived here.
Haha to that last comment about anger. Very good advice about sleeping when baby sleeps. You are the first hodgepodger I've seen today to be like a waterfall. Good answer.
Oh how I wish I listened to that advice. I always tried to get "just 1 thing" done when my babies were sleeping and then I'd sit down to rest and they'd wake up. Sometimes I would lay down with them and that worked better :) Chicken provolone sounds delicious. Have a great week :)
Hope your day is going well. We are blessed with nice neighbors and visit about once per week.
I'll look into that recipe, thanks! That poster at the end is sadly so true of many. Hope you have a good rest of your week, Debby. xo
Looks like a good recipe for a potluck...thanks for sharing!
Cheers!

That chicken recipe looks so yummy!
Love your 'random' ... oh, how I can identify!
I think sleep when the baby sleeps is probably a good one. Have a great week.
Oh you had me thinking back several times. Loving your Hodge Podge.
1. YEARS. Most of them are so busy that I never see them. Very rare here also.
2. Ocean. I love the sound, the beautiful waves it makes and it seems to clean my soul once I put my feet in it.
3. Never been to Delware. I live in TN and we are the Volunteer State. Yes, we hold up to that nickname. And I would leave it the nickname it is.
4. Cowboy or Hill Billy Caviar ....I pulled one of the internet.
5. When you correct your child, don't say you are going to do something if they don't stop....go through with it.
6. Random thought.....Smile and Laugh daily
Okay I am with you on the water falls - I love their power. I have never been to Delaware either. And sleep when the baby is sleeping for sure! My favorite is that joke and how true it is! sandie
I chat with several neighbors pretty frequently. Sometimes several of us go to the neighborhood pub. It's a very friendly neighborhood.
That graphic is a riot! (Did a man or a woman create it?) Now I'm off to find out about Chicken Provolone.
Our responses to #2 are very similar. Emotions are spilling out all over the place these days.
This isn't a very chatty neighborhood either, no visiting over the fence and the like. When I was a kid living on the mill hill, everybody, except one woman, talked to everyone else. They'd sit out on the porches and talk to passers-by and all sorts of friendly behavior.
How is your daddy doing? I hope he's getting along better now. I hope that you have a wonderfully blessed weekend.
Even though my sister lives in Delaware (she moved there a few years ago), I have only drove through the state.
Missouri is called the "Show Me State". I think it is a lame name. Maybe "The Gateway State" would be a better moniker?
One of these days I do hope to get back to your Golden State. ツ
talking to neighbours is rare in winter especially but in the summer everyone's out more. One of our neighbours starting hosting a winter party every year which brings the street together. It's wonderful.
living in an attached townhouse I was always talking to my neighbors. Now where we moved it NEVER happens. We have lived here over a year and still haven't met the people next door
Lately that last ecard fits me lol
