1. April is National Jazz Appreciation Month. Are you a fan? If so what's a favorite you'd recommend to someone new to jazz listening?
Yes I am a fan of smooth Jazz. It has been a very long time since I have bought any smooth jazz. I recommend listening to a smooth jazz station.
2. Mandolin, ukulele, harp, accordion or banjo...which would you be most interested in learning to play? Or do you already play one of the instruments listed?
Gosh I'm not sure on this one. I will say the harp. No I don't play any instruments.
3. Do you judge a book by it's cover? Elaborate. You may answer in either/both the literal or figurative sense of the word.
The cover will definitely draw me in. I am not an avid reader. I am an avid buyer of books. However the short description of the story is what makes me buy it.
4. According to a recent study the ten most nutritious foods are-almonds, cherimoya (supposed to taste like a cross between a pineapple/banana), ocean perch, flatfish (such as flounder and halibut), chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, swiss chard, pork fat (shocking! but I don't think they mean bacon), beet greens, and red snapper. Are any of these foods a regular part of your diet? Any you've never ever tasted? Which would you be most inclined to add to your diet?
Almonds, Chia Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds are already in my diet. I'm thinking I haven't tasted any of the others. I'm a salmon and tuna person, I haven't tasted other fish. I would be interested in trying the Cherimoya.
5. Besides a major holiday what is the most recent thing you've celebrated with your people? Tell us how.
While I was in Florida we celebrated my great-nieces 17th birthday!
6. Insert your own random thought here.

I don't play a musical instrument either. I always wished I learned piano.
LOL LOL on the snails.. to funny. last get together was cousin reunion last labor day... only almonds on the food list. and i do judge a book by it cover, both literal books and people. i make snap judgements even when i know i should not, not the way they look, but the way they act... i don't like jazz or any of the instruments. i do love a mellow sax but only a few and depending on who is playing it.
Haha! Those snails are funny. I also had to chuckle at what you said about being an avid buyer of books. What is it that makes us buy more books than we can possibly read? I love to read, but I do buy more books than I should.
The snails are too funny! As much rain as we've had around here, I thought for awhile we might need to build and ark. And, I think we're supposed to be getting more today.
Hope you have a great day!!
Poor Noah. LOL I play the piano a super slight bit and I used to play the clarinet quite well but I never got the hang of stringed instruments. I wish though because I'd love to play the violin or cello!
LOL the snails are funny. I'm guilty of judging a book by its cover both literally and figuratively
Debby, you find the best funnies. :-)
I do not play any instruments as well, I would like to learn the banjo.
Carla
Your funny is cute - that is about my speed normally. I can't say I am a jazz fan like you tho. I think the harp is so cool, but I hear it is very hard to learn. I try to eat eight dark chocolate almonds a day - not a real chore. Nice you got to see your dad in Florida - hope all is worked out. sandie
Who knew old Noah had a sarcastic sense of humor? LOL!
As a child I was compelled to play both the piano and violin ... I hated both. Would you believe, today I can't read a single note of music!
I'm no instrument player either. Love that cartoon. Being retired now I enjoy taking my time.
It seems that a consensus is forming for Smooth Jazz. My cable provider has a number of music channels one of which happens to be Smooth Jazz. i also get my jazz fix on Pandora and Spotify.
Happy Birthday to your great nieces. I liked your Random Thought.
Thank you for visiting my blog page and for leaving a comment. Have a great week.
Love yourrandom thought, just made my day. Birthday's are always fun to celebrate.
My older son plays mandolin, ukele, AND banjo. (Also guitar).
I had to go look at the study - I'm not sure about how they are ranking those foods. No broccoli on the list? No berries? No cold-water fish like salmon? They say it's ranked according to getting nutrients from the fewer number of foods, but I think a truly healthy diet includes a wide variety of foods to maximize getting a huge range of micro-nutrients.
I wish I were musical. Fortunately my girls got hubs genes in that department : ) Hope you're having a great weekend!
Hi Debby,
I like a lot of music and jazz is one of them.
I enjoy listening to good harp music, also.
I do judge a book by its cover, rarely look at the short description of it.
I have also learned to read the preface, or introduction; lots of info there.
Congrats on your great-nieces birthday.
Have a great week!
