1. They say you learn something new every day. What did you learn yesterday?
That just because you had money being transferred one day that doesn't mean it shows up in the new account on that day.
I was in a panic wondering where my money was but it showed up in the account the next day. I'm just learning online banking!!
A little more about that in question #2.
2. Have you ever had a now or never moment? Elaborate.
Sure I have them every few months. See I put things off for as long as a can and then it becomes a now or never moment. An example would be making that doctor's appointment because I'm needing my medications.
The biggest now or never moment for me recently has been with a bank account of mine. The money has been earning absolutely nothing since the market crashed years ago. I've been wanting to move it into an online account that I started a few years ago that is actually making some money.
Example:
$80,000 is making $1.26 per month which is horrible
$24,000 is making $25.00 per month....win win!
So the money has been moved and I feel so good about it.
3. April 25th is National Telephone Day. Do you still have a land line or have you gone mobile only? When you receive a text message do you respond immediately? Last time you turned your phone off? In two or three sentences share with us a story/memory/incident from your childhood (or something current if that's too hard) where the telephone is featured.
Yes we have a land line and I would like to continue that for as long as it is available. I can't stand talking on a cell phone!
I do respond to text message immediately if I'm in the same room with my phone at the time. I don't turn my phone off but I do turn the sound off when I don't want to be disturbed.
I can't remember anything specific other than the very long cord and trying to get as far away from the other family members as possible. I also remember my grandparents having a pay phone in their flat.
4. Close call, at someone's beck and call, call the shots, call a meeting, call it quits, call in sick, call on the carpet, wake up call...which call have you 'heard' recently? Explain.
I haven't heard any of those recently.
5. What subject do you wish you'd paid more attention to in school?
I'll say History. I didn't like school at all except for maybe gym. Now I find that I really know very little about things that happened in the history of this country and world. Of course I still don't like school so I'm not working on learning more about it which is rather sad.
6. Insert your own random thought here.

LOL, love the bit about dusting.
I'm very good at having now or never moments. I tend to put things off all the time.
I love the dusting saying!!! LOVE and I have to say I agree. I have a landline. Tried to do away with it but since I don't carry my phone with me to every room or upstairs my mom would fuss and fuss about not being able to get me so...I went back to a landline. Mom, daughter and son have the number. They are the only ones that call me on that line and if asked what that number is, I have to look it up. I don't even know it....how bad is that? Nice reading up on you and learning more.
I'm with you about not liking to talk on a cell phone. We don't have a landline since we moved a few years ago and it was pretty strange at first. One of my friends bought me a gag gift.... an regular phone handset that plugs into my cell phone. She thought it was funny... I actually love it! (I don't use it very often, but I still prefer it over cell phone)
brahahahahaha! me to on the dust quote... for some reason dusting is the thing i hate most about housework.
I hated school from mid 9th grade until i graduated. there was nothing i liked or loved. i am glad I took typing which i hated then but use now...
every tiem i leave home driving i have at least one close call. our traffic is horrendous and very dangerous even on back roads i travel.
i don't talk on my cell unless it is to call cable because our interent home phone is out or to call roadside assistance. i turn it off at bedtime and on when i get up. everyone knows i don't use it and they call the home phone. if i hear a text i answer it unless i am driving. the only person who text me is my sister in law, daily updates and once in a rare while my son.
Dusting always comes back but I never know from where! If I could figure that out, then the dust would be gone forever. I liked history in school but I had a great teacher who turned all the history events into long stories. He told us about the people and how they looked and what they would have worn or eaten or the type of housing they would have lived in so it was more interesting to learn about them.
Hi Debby,
Can you believe it? I joined in on the Hodgepodge this week :)
I love your random answer, I feel the same way...LOL
I have never heard any of #4 and what is `call on the carpet? What era is that from?
Have a great day!!
I love the random thought. I might have to steal it for my own use, but I only have to dust once a month or so here, so its not too bad. Glad you got the online banking thing figured out. It does make banking so much easier in some respect to be able to transfer money here or there. I rely a lot on it for various things we do. I have to have a landline for work, but once I stop working for this company, it will be the first thing that goes. I never give the number out to anyone (I shouldn't say never, I've given it out to a few local businesses). I don't like to talk on the phone much; maybe its from all the years I was a secretary and answered phones all day long.
betty
Landline begone ... finally! But I even hate talking on my cell and must walk around (pace) while doing so. Tom can't figure out how I managed to stay put at my secretarial desk all those years!
I usually return texts asap because I've recently learned the sender can tell when his/her message has been viewed.
Amen to your random! lol
That sounds like a smart move concerning your money :)
It seems like several of us didn't like history in school--and still don't!
Oh, and I really don't like talking on a cell phone either. Guess we have a few more things in common :)
Kathy (Reflections)
I think we learn something new every day and that it is good for us.
We lost A LOT of money when the stock market crashed and it did not come back. :(
I have a land line I have had for 40 years and do not want to give it up.
Love, sandie
Yes, online banking can be tricky at times. My problem has been just as soon as I get things figured out they change it!
Between the pollen and the construction all around us there is a lot of dust here too. I feel like I could dust several tmes a day (I don't!) Glad you got y our money moved and are happy with the result. Have a nice weekend!
I understand about the banking accounts. Recently, I took several thousand out of a saving account because it wasn't earning anything and added it to an investment group I'm in that is actually making money. But, I do love being able to do my banking online. So convenient! And a big YES about the dusting. In fact, I've got to get off this computer and rearrange some in my house.
Hi Debby,
Thanks for stopping by today.
Its been a while since I've done Hodgepodge.
I'm excited to be back :)
Hello from NH. I am so with you on putting off going to the doctor's office, but I can't get my meds without it. So I go, usually just before running out. I enjoyed History when I was in school. Interestingly enough I had some real drones for History teachers but they failed to kill my enjoyment of the subject.
I also enjoy reading History and historical novels. I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Hi Debby,
Your randoms are so fun!!
I LOVE History. ;-) History and Biology were my top classes.
Have a great week ahead!!
Carla
LOVE the dust sign! HAHA....What did I learn yesterday? I learned that I seem to be allergic to sand! haha.....crazy huh?
I hate talking on a cell phone too and only have that (no land line) but I hate talking on the phone, period.
