1. Security or freedom? Can you have both? Explain.
This answer comes from Mark: "Of course you can, but there is a point when too much security can restrict your freedom."
2. If you could visit any historical American site what would it be? Why?
I would choose Mt. Rushmore. I have seen it and want to see it again because it was over 40 years ago since I've been there.
We will be doing that now that Mark's retirement is starting. However I really want to visit all the historical monuments in DC. I haven't been there yet.
3. Free as a bird, free reign, be free of, free enterprise, free trip, walk away scot free, free for all...which 'free' phrase can best be applied to your life in recent days or weeks? Explain.
I don't know what to pick. With Mark's last day being Friday I think that almost all of them will show up in the nest few weeks.
4. Something in your frig that's red? Something in your house that's white? Something in your view that's blue?
A can of Lindsay black Olives in the frig, our walls are white in the house and the blue sky in our view!
5. July 27th is National New Jersey Day. Have you ever visited The Garden State? If so where did you go? Are there diners where you live? Have you tried Taylor Pork Roll? Do you like to play Monopoly? Salt water taffy-yay or nay? How do you feel about shopping at the mall? Springsteen, Sinatra, or Bon Jovi-you have to pick one.
No I haven't visited the Garden State.
I guess we have some diner's.
No I haven't had a Taylor Park Roll.
Yes I like to play Monopoly.
Salt water taffy is okay but I don't go out of my way to buy it.
I don't care to shop the mall's much anymore.
I will pick Sinatra.
Raise your hand if you know why these add-on questions are appropriate on National NJ Day.

I was out of town Friday through Tuesday. I haven't been reading blog posts at all. I am way behind. I didn't even post about our Anniversary or my Dad's 95th. Hopefully I will right a post in a few days. It was an amazing weekend in Florida!!!
Worst part was that Amber's flight out of Denver to Great Falls was delayed and she was there waiting for over six hours while my flight to California took off on time.

I cannot believe your dad is 95! He seems to be looking younger every year instead of older. He's doing something right for sure. I hope y'all are able to enjoy Mark's retirement and don't get on each other's nerves too badly. LOL
oh no on the plane delay... I have always felt we have the most freedom of any country in the world, I am now fearing that may not last long. I love the feeling of being free from my old work place, 12 years of freedom. woo hooo.. I can't think of a place I would like to visit, a western town would be nice or maybe the painted ladies in San Francisco... I love old things but nothing specific comes to mind.
What's with all the airlines delays lately?? So sorry that happened. Love the cartoon! Oh that they could and would! I've never been to Mount Rushmore, but that's because it's an 11 hour drive to get there and there's nothing nearby that I'd also like to see. That's why I like the east coast: all kinds of stuff to see. And why I love England. So much to see in an itty bitty space! (relatively speaking).
That was terrible about Amber's flight being delayed so long! Glad that your flight was okay, but I know you were concerned and worried about Amber getting home too. We're going to be in the Washington DC area in September, but since we have since some of the monuments on previous trips, we are going to look for out of the ordinary things to do there this time :) I do like Mark's explanation on question #1, I tend to agree with what he said! Just a few days until his retirement! Looking at your pictures on Facebook, it did look like it was a great time in Florida with your family!

Oh, how your lives will change after Mark's retirement …. all for the GOOD, I suspect!
Aside from a day's car ride, my days of travel are blissfully over. (She says while crossing her fingers!) I do hope Amber likes to read, or had some diversion while waiting. Poor girl!
I, too, enjoyed your FB pictures … especially the part about visiting the Lucky Dill!
Mark had a good answer to that first one. A 6 hour wait in an airport does not sound like fun at all
I’d like to see Mt Rushmore too. So glad you had a good time in Florida.
Free as a bird now.... enjoy! Happy Retirement to you both. I am looking forward to seeing pics with Dad.
Greetings from the Granite State. Happy Birthday to your Dad. All the best to you and your husband as you turn a page and transition into retirement. I pray that it goes smoothly.
Thanks for visiting my blog page and for leaving a comment. Also, Happy Anniversary yourself!
I am so happy for you! Mark retiring, let the fun begin. My bucket list thing I fulfilled a couple of summers ago and that was going to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
I couldn't stop crying.
It looks like you have a lot of things coming up.
Have a great weekend, Debby!!
You will love having Mark home full time! I love being home with my Hubby, good thing we like each other. Have a great 4th of July holiday.
Oh sweetie good luck with having a man around the house all the time.
Hi,
Crazy about the airlines. Goodness!
We loved Mt. Rushmore. My boys fell in love with the area. The Black Hills are so beautiful.

I have been in Ohio - so I am behind as well. I would love to go to Greece myself!
