WHAT'S GOING ON HERE ?

Way too much!

Trying to make this short. I could write for days about all of these items items.

Mark's insurance at work changes on July 1st. That really upset me. I've just gotten to know my new doctor's after our doctor changed medical groups last year!  We have had Aetna insurance for a very long time.

Mark's retiring. So earlier this year Mark announced at work that he would be retiring in March 2019. They started making a lot of changes last year that frustrated him. Also he is just so tired of traveling.

The company is making a lot of changes and probably going to downsize a little bit so Mark decided to see if they would take an offer which would save them some money and that maybe he could leave sooner. They took the offer and his last day is June 29th. Oh my, I wasn't ready for this one!!

I have absolutely no issues with him being home but this was my year to de-clutter and be ready for some changes in 2019. So since the insurance was changing anyway we decided to get going with Medicare since there was no point in getting the new insurance at work.

It took Mark about two weeks to go through everything and find something that works best for us right now without too many changes. Worst part is going to be my prescriptions because I have four that there is no generic for.

So starting July 1st I will be making a lot of calls and getting all of my appointments worked out through Medicare. All of the doctor's I have currently been seeing are in the same medical group we have been in for a year now with our primary doctor. So really just some tweaking to be made.

We have no idea where we are going. Mark wants to move out of California because it is extremely costly to live here. I won't budge with the baby coming. I've waited too long and I want to be available for babysitting.

So this will take a while to sort out. We will most likely stay where we are now until the end of the year and then work on putting the house on the market.

Needless to say there are a lot of changes coming in the future. I am hopeful that they are all good and positive for us. I never like change but I really want a smaller place. I just can't keep up with this size house anymore. We will definitely miss our view!!

I had jury duty last week. Had to go in the afternoon on the second day. All the parking areas were a little further than I wanted to walk so I decided to just park on the street nearby and pay for parking. I only had six singles which only took me to 3 pm. So before we went into court they suggested I go put more money in.

Of course I couldn't get change anywhere. I ended up asking a few young men if they had any singles. I had a $10 bill to give to them. They wouldn't take it but I did get a few singles and got my time extended. Thankfully I was excused that day.

I have to say that the judge was an amazing man. I was so impressed with him. He did say something that I felt was true. He talked about the importance of serving on jury duty. He said that our men and woman serving our country here and around the world are doing that for our freedom and safety. They risk their lives for us each day. This is something we can do in return for them. It is a small way to serve our country compared to what they are doing for us.

Skye had ticks on her! We don't get ticks here. I went crazy over this one. Ran out for tick spray. Did the whole house and Skye. I actually read some good articles on a natural spray to make. We spray the yard already for fleas and ticks so we think that she may have rubbed against something possibly on a walk with Mark.

Mark had one on him too! All seems to be well now. We are now starting to believe that Mark may have brought some home from his trip to Canada.

Fun time at Adam and Gabby's the weekend before this one. We took over filet mignon to grill, scallop potatoes from Costco, mushrooms to saute and salad. Skye came along and they are just getting along great.

Roxy thought it was fun holding the hose.
She even squirted Skye in the face once by accident.

After playing the pool they also chased each other
around the yard for hours!

We headed to Arizona on Friday for a small family gathering with Mark's side. His mom flew in from Houston. His one brother and wife flew in from Chicago. Adam and Gabby flew in and we drove up with Skye. We stayed with his sister and her wife Pam for the weekend. Pam's daughter, her husband and their two boys were in town too. We hadn't seen them in 10 years. We had the best time!

This coming Friday I leave for Florida to celebrate my dad's 95th birthday. I return home on Monday. But this trip is going to be different. I'm not staying for a few weeks like I normally do.

I am meeting up with Amber at the Denver airport and then we fly together to Tampa. She is terrified to fly so this is my way of helping her to get there. She hasn't seen her grandpa since his 90th birthday. My brother is flying in from Milwaukee and I haven't seen him in several years. Should be fun! I also get to meet my new great great nephew.

Of course nothing happens without more drama. I've been sick for over a week now and had to start on steroids/antibiotic along with using my breathing machine. Hoping to feel better soon.

Always thankful for the blessing given to
me from from God.

Wow, I'm surprised about the ticks! That was never a problem when we were in the Southern California area and had a dog. I wonder if somehow they made their way down there because of previous droughts, etc. Glad you got it taken care of for both Skye and Mark!

I got excused from jury duty last year when called; they didn't need my group I was assigned to, but I was seriously thinking of taking Uber down to the courthouse if I had to go because parking was a hassle, etc. After I served on a jury 5 years ago in San Diego and the impact that was, I resolved to always try to serve if I physically and mentally can.

Lots of changes for you; good ones with just a little tweaking here and there with trying to figure out where to live, etc., but you are right, we are incredibly blessed and have a good life, even if we have a bad day within all the good ones.

Enjoy Florida and your visit and I know you'll enjoy seeing and spending the time with both Amber and your Dad, as well as getting to meet your new family member!

Praying that you feel better soon!

You are going through a lot of change and remember, even good changes are stressors. One year I had our first baby, quit my job, and moved to another city where my husband had our new house that he built ready for us. At the time I did not realize that good changes are stressors too. We made it through and it worked out well. Take care of yourself as you keep busy.

Oh wow, oh wow. Wow, Debby! So much, so soon … I'd be taking up serious drinking. LOL. The worst part of our moving and my retiring is trying to work with Medicare. We don't have a 'gap' policy in place just yet (only Part B), so I'm praying we both stay safe until Open Enrollment this Fall. Why does the government have to make things so dang complicated!?!

Prayers for a safe journey and a great visit with your daddy!

Retiring is really high on the stress meter. Plus you have all this other stuff. I think this is all good stress - but your body doesn't know the difference - so try to go one day at a time. Sounds like some great plans.

Debby, so many exciting plans and changes. A new baby is exciting and then of course retirement. I look forward to the day of being able to say those words. Enjoy each adventure!!

So much going on in your life right now. I've not always been fond of change but sometimes you just have to go with the flow

Whew! Debbie, no wonder you had a flare up and needed meds... you have a lot going on! I hope you and Amber have a wonderful time at your dad's. The dogs are too cute playing together. Don't budge on moving away from your new grandbaby!!! We are now three hours from our closest grand's and 11 from the one in TN. I sure do miss being able to see them when I want to! I hope hubby loves his retirement and now you will have help to declutter... ha ha! Just remember, life is about to get really good for you two... new grandbaby on the way and hubby will be around to do stuff with!!! Enjoy!

Congrats to Mark on retiring. I have found Medicare to work well for us. Hope you can navigate the details and make the best decisions.
