These photos are pretty much from our grandson's first 4 days. Gabby was 9 days after her due date when they induced her labor. She basically had about 20 hours of hard labor before they decided to do the c-section. He just wasn't dropping down.
Like father, like son. I was induced with Adam and had 16 hours of hard labor. I also had a c-section because he was what they called "sunny side up" and when I had a contraction his breathing would go way down.
We are happy he is here and we got to visit him about 12 hours after he was born.

What I wanted to share with everyone is that this pregnancy was difficult for me. Since I have had my handkerchief ministry since 2009 I have sent out close to 600 handkerchiefs to woman across the country and a several out of the country. I know all the things that can go wrong. I had to talk myself out of the thoughts in my head. It got better as time went on.
When he started getting past his due date I started worrying again. The statistics change the longer you are late. However I know several close friends who had no issues being two weeks late with their babies. I wish I didn't know all these things but I have personally emailed with all the baby loss moms I've sent handkerchiefs to and it got to me.
I was so happy when they were finally at the hospital where they would be monitoring him. He is perfect and healthy. We are so excited to have JP in our lives. It is still very surreal for me. Since I am 67 and my sister has had grandchildren since she was 46 I feel like I have been waiting forever! I stare at his photos and can't believe he is ours. I keep thanking God for his blessings on our family.
We got to see him again on Saturday evening.
"Grandma....I'm getting very sleepy!"
At 11:47 PM tonight he will be a week old.
Adam and Gabby are exhausted. Gabby of course is recovering from a c-section which is not easy and James wants to eat every 2 hours right now. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Here's a happy photo of Mommy, Roxy and baby James from yesterday!
(I need to get a photo with Daddy Adam)

I love the last pic with the dog's paw on the pillow :)
I am always amazed at how tiny they are at the beginning. Like a little dog in that big bed
Great post & pictures!! So very happy for you.
Roxy looks like he is going to do well with his little brother.
So sweet, Roxy looks like she approves of her human brother
he is so sweet and cute, love all the pics and I know you are relieved and oh so happy. 67 is late for having grandkids, but these days it seems there are more like you.. congratualtions..
What a blessing! Even immediately following childbirth, Gabby is beautiful! I can't wait to hear Skye's reaction to her new nephew. :)
I love the pictures of you and Mark holding JP! I'm sure in more ways than one, he was worth the wait. Its hard for us who know what potentially go wrong when those we love are pregnant, but thankfully JP is healthy and all worked out in the long run. I'm sure he will continue to be a blessing to Gabby, Adam, you, Mark, and the rest of your family!
betty
