Honestly I don't have all the details but I have a few interesting facts I can share. I believe that most couples who are dating and are planning on getting married will at some point have a discussion about having children and what names they like.
One thing I do know about James Adam Pucci is how he got his middle name. It is not a long family tradition but it is definitely a tradition now that hopefully James will continue someday.
Mark is Mark Ralph Pucci. His dads name was Ralph, so we named Adam, Adam Mark Pucci and so the tradition started and we are happy that Adam and Gabby did the same thing with James.
Back in January of this year we were in Houston, TX celebrating Mark's mothers 90th birthday. Adam and Gabby were there too. In her living room she had a throw on her sofa with all the family names on it including the dogs. It was a gift from Mark's brother Jimmy and his wife Caprice.
As it turned out the conversation about this throw pointed out that there was an extra James put on it. Everyone kidded that if they have a baby they should name him James because it's already on the throw. Adam said that was a name that they had discussed for future children. Everyone laughed and that was that!
Of course at the time none of us knew that Gabby was actually already pregnant, including Adam and Gabby. When we talk about that weekend now she does remember not feeling well but didn't think it was that. She was actually on her 3rd round of antibiotics for walking pneumonia.
So they had a few names rolling around during the pregnancy. I know for awhile Gabby was calling him Benjamin which Adam did not like. I do know that Adam wanted the name to be able to have a nickname because he never had a nickname with his name.
So what we found out since he was born is that Adam mentioned calling him JP and that's what sold Gabby on his name. I'm still calling him James for now and sometimes JP.

Mark's grandfather was a James, his uncle is a James and his brother is a James. My grandfather on my mother's side was also a James.
Isn't he the sweetest little thing.....
We got to hang with JP on Friday night!

very interesting story and the happy ending is his name is already on the quilt. love it.. a good tradition to start. JP/James is so sweet and cute..
I was not crazy about my husband's name, Lynn Robert, I gave the first son the middle name Lynn and the second Robert for middle name. Robert is as popular as the name James, so now I am married to Robert, son #2 is Robert and I had an uncle Robert
So sweet he is! So cute too how he came to be James. It is a good solid name! I like the nickname JP too. Its a great tradition you guys continued with and I hope continues on through many generations to come. My mom named my sister after her mom and my dad's mother's first names and my sister continued that tradition with her 1st daughter. Now that that daughter is married, we'll see if she continues the tradition when they decide to have kids.
Hope all is going well with JP and the young family adjusting to each other.
betty
Well, he is cute, be he a James or a JP!
Awesome story about how that little sweetie got his name
My son's first name is James, too. I wasn't especially fond, but his dad and I had an agreement … if it was a boy he got naming rights. Son's always gone by his middle name, "Troy." Growing up, I (too) wish I might have had a cute nickname. Little one can do with "Myra."
What a cute story!! And now the extra James is here! Little JP is adorable!
I love that story and yes he is a doll!
He's adorable. And I always am curious about how people choose their kids' names.
I love a history with a name. JP is so dang cute!
I like it .. very special indeed.
JP, I just love that.
:-)
I just love the tradition of family names.
Being in Gram is such a blessing! Enjoy every minute and smooch JP for me.
Oh my goodness! I loved reading this! He is just too much cuteness and the story of his name is such a wonderful tradition. I also love the story about the blanket and the name James. Everything about this is so sweet. Enjoy, enjoy!
What a sweet story! One of our nephews is a James. His dad grew up in Ohio and he was born during the time when Lebron went to Miami and everyone was mad. I joked that we knew they wouldn't name their kid Lebron or James and then they named him James! LOL
