About a month ago, as I was driving down the beautiful street called Euclid in Upland California on my way to bowling, I saw a homeless man with his shopping cart filled with his possessions along with a large dog at his side. I remembered that I had a bag of food at the house that Skye couldn't eat and decided that I would put it in my trunk in hopes of maybe seeing him again.
Last Wednesday after bowling I had to go for an MRI on my right ankle at the hospital. After that I went back towards the bowling alley to go over to a Sprouts grocery store where I needed to pick up a few things for the house.
So going home from there, heading towards the fwy, I drive down Euclid Avenue again. Suddenly I see the man with his cart and dog. I was not near him and traffic was very heavy.
I turned on a side street where I was caught at a light and as he walked by in the opposite direction I was able to roll down my window and talk with him. I told him that I had a bag of dog food for his dog and that I would turn around and meet him across the street on the other side.
So that's what I did. I was able to turn my car around a few streets up and then went back in the direction he was walking. There was a lot of traffic and no place on the street to stop but I was able to pull into the parking lot of a building and he walked down the street to meet me. It was a very special feeling and he said to me "God Bless You."

What a wonderful thing for you to do.
THat Gmail sign up has been making the rounds. I think I've seen their comment on just about every blog I've visited this morning. They were dropping a lot on my blog for a while and I kept deleting them. I'll have to go look to see if they left one on mine today.
Thank you for sharing :) I know you were both blessed!
such a happy story, and we all need good stories these days. so happy for the man and the dog and for you for the blessing you received doing it. we all need to be more aware of opportunities like this. thanks for sharing. I saw Anns comment about the gmail spam. I just keep spamming it and hope one day it will stop
That was so very sweet and thoughtful of you! I am sure he was so very appreciative!!!
Such a win-win situation! You got rid of something you couldn't use and you blessed someone with it! Such a great feeling to do things like this!! Good eyes for spotting him and giving thanks to God that he orchestrated it that you two could meet up like this.
betty
Such a great thing!! I love your heart.
Awwww! Didn't that gladden your heart? I love this!
Awww, that's so nice, thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad it worked out for you to be able to do this.
I like the quote at the top too, that is true.
God bless,
Bethany
Good for you! I always get so nervous when I see homeless people with animals. Homeless people can go into shelters but what happens to their animals? That makes me happy to see that he still had the dog after all the time.
I bet you had dog tail waves when you left!!!!
That was so sweet. God Bless.
Oh good for you for taking the effort to return with the food for his dog.
