On 12/20/18 I went to see Boy Erased. This was a very good movie. I've become a fan of Lucas Hedges, an up and coming actor. Of course this movie is on a touchy subject regarding being gay.
"The son of a Baptist preacher is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program after being forcibly outed to his parents."
On 12/28/18 I went to see Second Act with Jennifer Lopez. I am a big fan of her movies. This was very enjoyable.
"A big box store worker reinvents her life and her life-story and shows Madison Avenue what street smarts can do."
On 1/8/19 Mark and I went to see The Mule. I love Clint Eastwood movies, especially when he directs them and this one was really good. We both liked it.
"A 90-year-old horticulturist and Korean War veteran is caught transporting $3 million worth of cocaine through Illinois for a Mexican drug cartel."
On 1/14/19 we went to see The Favourite. This movie was enjoyable. We both liked it a lot and it has a lot of Oscar attention this year. The cast was great!
"In early 18th century England, a frail Queen Anne occupies the throne and her close friend, Lady Sarah, governs the country in her stead. When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah.
On 1/17/19 I went to see two movies. First up was Ben is Back. This movie was very good and Julia Roberts was excellent. This is another movie with Lucas Hedges which was in Boy Erased. This time he plays a drug addict. He was also excellent!
"A drug addicted teenage boy shows up unexpectedly at his family's home on Christmas Eve."
Next up was The Upside. OMG this one was laugh out loud funny. Brian Cranston and Kevin Hart were great together. Of course you need to be a fan of Kevin Hart. If you don't like him you may not enjoy the movie as much as I did.
"A comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy man with quadriplegia and an unemployed man with a criminal record who's hired to help him."
On 1/23/19 Mark and I went to see Vice. This movie was so good and the actor's were excellent. No wonder Christian Bale has been winning awards for his performance. I'm not that much into politics so it was interesting seeing what Dick Cheney really did while he worked with George W. Bush.
"The story of Dick Cheney, an unassuming bureaucratic Washington insider, who quietly wielded immense power as Vice President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today."
Last Wednesday 2/13/19 I went to see Isn't It Romantic. I needed to see a movie like this. It was funny but it was also predictable. I enjoyed it, even if it was a little silly. I am a fan of Rebel Wilson, she makes me laugh.
"A young woman disenchanted with love mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy."
The 91st Academy Awards will be on next Sunday night
the 24th of February.
I can't wait! I've got my ballot ready.

I might go to see the last one if that comes out over here. The others I am so-so about. Although sometimes you catch them on tv a few years later and they are really good!
I haven't heard of any of these movies but they sound good. All those movies and there wasn't a dud in the bunch :)
So glad you enjoyed the movies, it's really hard to find that many with good reviews! Thanks for sharing.
Sue
today there is only one i would not want to see, the rest are appealing and i would like to see them. that is the Favourite i would not want to see.
You are so fortunate to see all the movies!!
Rebel Wilson cracks me up - I'm dying to see that movie!
You do a great job, Debby, keeping track of your movies you go to. I want to see the Mule sometime, along with a lot of other ones you reviewed here. Lots to look forward to on Red Box in the coming months. I was going to write you an email yesterday, just to catch up, all going well here, but I dropped my phone in the bucket I was using to wash the floors and ended up having to go to Verizon for a new phone. Didn't have insurance on it, first catastrophe of a cell phone for me since I first got one. Expensive lesson learnt :) Will write in a few days.
betty
I always look forward to your reviews!!
Ben is Back is one I have on my list to watch.
The Upside is another.
Holy cow you movie goer!! I am jealous. The only movie I've seen at theatres was Bohemian rhapsody , a star is born and Sherlock holmes with will Ferrell.
I want to see all these you listed.
Gosh, I've been living under a rock! Instinctively, I'm drawn to the Mule and The Upside; we'll probably wait 'til they air on Netflix.
You are such a movie goer. What was your favorite movie?
Your movies seem to vary so widely in content and the type of movies they are...that is neat. I sort of stay with the same type of movies when I go out to see them. Pretty cool.
This shows me how far behind I am on movie viewing! WOWSA - I have not seen any of these!
You are a real movie addict!
Wow, I haven't been to a movie in ages. Thanks for the rundown
How do you feel about the Awards now that they are past?
