1. Who is your oldest friend/ how did you meet?
I have a few friends that I would put in this category. Shirley who was my next door neighbor growing up. Also Diane and Sherry who I knew through grade school and high school. We have a 50th HS reunion coming up this year.
2. Tell us about circle of support. Who are your people?
That would be my friend Kendra from bowling and also Betty, Ann, Sandie, Sandra, Amy and Alexis from blogging along with a few other's.
3. How did you meet your partner?
We meet in High School. Dated for a few months at one point but then we just hung with the same friends. It wasn't until after graduation that we started dating again.
4. How is Valentine's Day celebrated in your home?
Most of the time we will go out to eat prior to Valentine's day because of the crowds on that day. We have also had dinner at home a few times. We usually exchange cards and small gifts like candy.
5. What is your love language?
I wasn't sure what this meant so I Googled it here! I definitely like to give "Words of Affirmation" and I think "Quality Time" for us would be being going to the show or watching some TV programs together.
6. Do you prefer receiving flowers or chocolate?
A few years ago I would have said both but now I will say chocolate. Flowers die and are a waste of money. I have asked for a house plant over the years, however I would like to receive flowers every once in awhile on just a random day!
7. What is the most meaningful gift you have ever received or have given?
Sorry, nothing is coming to mind but I will share this: Mark and I were divorced and separated for six years back in the 80's. When we were getting back together he did say something to me that I loved and was very meaningful to me. He said "When I would dream about my future it was always you who was standing next to me."

I hope that Sandie was me!
Hey I agree with you about flowers - plus I am allergic to them. Prettier just to look at them if you ask me.
Honestly here, we don't do much for Valentine's Day.
And the comment your husband said - about being together in the future is awesome!
Love, sandie
valentines isn't too big with us but we exchange cards and maybe a little gift card or something. I love tulips so I usually just ask for some from the nearest grocery store. Such a sweet thing from your Hubs!!
That was nice what Mark said. I can see why it would mean a lot to you, Debby. Thanks for considering me one in your circle of support; ditto about you for me. Lately, hubby has brought home flowers twice randomly, after not doing it for a very long time. One was after a little argument but the other was totally random. It was nice. We are like you, preferring to go out before or after Valentine's father than the actual date. Too busy and sometimes I feel like the restaurant hurries people through to get the table filled quickly a gain.
betty
Hi Debby,
WOW, I do like what Mark said. Thank you for sharing it with us. That is very special and personal.
Flowers are very special.. ;-) I bet you knew I would say that. Mark can come stop by my Flower Shack and pick up a fantastic bouquet for just $5.00! xx oo Of course driving to Wisconsin would be a little out of the way. LOL
Love you, Debby!
Your answer to #3 is pretty much how I met my first husband. Glad you were luckier than I was...lol
I totally agree about the chocolate vs flowers. Flowers are pretty but they don't last long enough
i met my husband at work. we worked together. my long term friend is Madleine, we met in jr. high and were in each others weddings. my only support group is my husband, and the friend i mentioned and my sister in law but both of them are in another state. and my blog friends
I love your answers, Debby! Our class celebrates 40 years this year.
Not sure if I am going to the reunion. Have only been to one in all these years.
Great questions...
!. I guess my oldest friend is Lynne. We met in college and have been friends for57 or 58 years. A lot of water under the bridge for us.
2. My circle of support is Lynne, another friend though we live a distance from each other , and our Small Group Bible study peeps. I don't know what I would do without them.
3. Met my Hubby in college at a church group on campus...Went on a trip with the group, shook hands and "never let go".
4. Don't really celebrate Valentines Day except to say Love you and Happy Day. Once in a while we do the dinner out.
5. "Serving each other", remembering the things that make Hubby happy and trying to do them with a willing heart.
6.I love flowers but like others have said...they just don't last... Chocolate doesn't last either except on my hips!!
7.Our 2nd son being born after some difficult times in our marriage. The gift of reconciliation.
I have found that over the past year my support group was very much my blog friends as my life friends were nowhere near. It has made me value and appreciate all of them even more. And yes, that includes you!
We don't really do anything for Valentine's. Make a nice dinner, that's about it.
Lovely story about what your husband said to you.
I have an app I am reviewing soon regarding Five Love Languages. I'll be sharing the review before Valentine's Day.
