A week ago Thursday I had an eye appointment and I was thankful that they could fit me in. I had a few sharp pains in my right eye over a 10 day period. Then one day I suddenly noticed that the right side of my right eye was very red. I ended up having a blood vessel hemorrhage.
"A subconjunctival hemorrhage is bleeding underneath the conjunctiva. It can occur after a sudden or severe sneeze or cough, heavy lifting, straining, vomiting, or even rubbing one's eyes too roughly. It can also occur as a side effect of eye surgery or blood thinners.
The main symptom is a bright red patch in the eye that may spread and then become green or yellow, much like a bruise. Usually it disappears within two weeks. In most cases, no treatment is required for this condition."
So my eye is fine. She said "With all the things that can happen to an eye this is the one you want to happen!" It doesn't mean anything. It will go away like a bruise does. They only thing she said is that if it happens again that I should have my doctor check my blood thickness. Since my blood thinner was recently increased that could possibly be the issue.
However it can happen for many reason where you might strain yourself like even taking a poop! (Her words, not mine) We are thinking that maybe is was my Nuclear Stress Test because they really pushed me hard on the treadmill. I was even thinking that maybe my Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapy started it but a big surprise to me is that it has been rather easy.
I never thought I could work out for an hour and ten minutes and my oxygen levels are remaining in a good place and my heart rate is also good. Before and after PT my blood pressure is taken at rest and it will be 126/70 before and 118/60 after.
I am very pleased and excited. When I chose my word for this year "PUSH", I never knew how much it would come into effect for me. The main thing is that I continue this routine after my 18 sessions are over. So I will be going over the the local 24 Hour Fitness and hopefully be using my Silver Sneaker membership from United Health Care.
I also join Mark and Skye on their morning walk although I can't keep up with them or walk as long as they do but it's a start in the right direction!

Good things come in cans, not can'ts!
Ugh. That is such a silly saying, but I kinda love it.
Get well soon. You can do it!
That's great Debby about your exercise capacity improving! That will definitely help your overall health! Wow with your eye, but good that you were able to get help for it quickly and it was just a "minor" problem.
betty
The doctor is right - much worse can happen to the eye so I am thankful for you.
You sound so good - happy - I am giving you a pat on the back too!
Proud of you.

YEAY … I'm so happy for you, Debby. You're just the inspiration I need to get my lazy #*(#*#(*# moving!
That's awesome that you are able to do all that exercise and keep your oxygen levels good as well as your BP.
Glad the eye problem wasn't anything serious
What wonderful news, Debby, Can you see me giving pats on your back, just keep up the great work, as someone who has health issues, I know what it is to reach goals and have great reports. I certainly learned a lot about eye problems and what could cause them, thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Sue
So glad your eye situation worked out to be nothing serious. That could really be scary. So, push without pushing!
Fantastic Debby, Keep On Pushing at your own pace. :-) That is the best way to do it.
I am happy you are doing well.

Such great news about your eye. And your exercising, keep up the good work!
Happy to see the eye is fine. And keep up the good work regarding the exercise. I applaud you, I go for a week or so and then sponsor them for a further 2 years before finally cancelling my subscription!
I had that happen 2 years ago. It actually aches like a bruise does too but it went away pretty fast. Glad it wasn't serious!!
Wow, good for you. Keep it up and a hearty pat on the back from me too.
