betty said...: Always need to remember. I always try to say a prayer for those intimately affected by this day. I thought of those children who were born after this horrible day whose fathers had perished that day back in 2001. They will be turning 18; their whole lives without their dads because of such a selfish evil act.

Carla from The River said...: Thank you Debbie, we shared the story with the boys last night over dinner, what we were doing when the first plane crashed into the Twin Towers. Sam was just one year old and Atticus was in my belly. We always take time on 9/11 and share with them the story.
On 9/11 .. After an entire morning of being glued to the TV, I went to the mailbox in the afternoon. Our neighbor is a Gulf War Veteran, he also was heading out to the mailboxes. We both looked up at the sky, an eagle was flying above us. He turned to me and said "Carla, we are going to be alright, America will be alright. We will overcome this."
