Adam and Gabby wanted to take us out on Friday the 4th for my birthday (3rd) dinner but that was the day of Skye's surgery. So we set it up for Friday the 11th.
The only other time we have been out to dinner with James was when he was just a few month old. We usually cook or order food delivery when we get together with them. Mainly because James goes down around 6:30. So we went out a little after 4 pm.
This is a very nice Italian restaurant in the town of Orange. My choice because they have the best lasagna ever! We had a wonderful time and of course it was fun watching James enjoy himself.
He was super good. Only cried once after Gabby had to say "no" a few times because he was throwing food on the floor. He gets so offended with "no."
Enjoying his little disposable mat. They are sticky
and work out great when you go out to eat.
He wasn't sure about the waiter.
He was also mesmerized by him.
Was not into his pasta until we got
spaghetti sauce on it! Look at that
disappointment on his face.
Laughing at Gramps!
Let me tell you that he is so in love with his grandfather. Mark has never been a baby person. So we arrived at Adam and Gabby's before James was there. Gabby was home and Adam was picking him up at daycare.
They come into the house and he was happy to see us. I reached out to take him from Adam but he wanted Gramps! This boy is melting his heart. I've never seen more tears in Mark's eyes then when we are around James.
James turned 1 year old yesterday! I will share some photos soon from last night and his party on Saturday. Also Amber and Dylan are in town so I don't know how much blog reading I will get to.

What a nice birthday dinner you had. James is so adorable and I just love all the facial expressions. He just gets cuter every day.
Enjoy your time with Amber and Dylan; blogs are always here, family aren't. Happy belated birthday James! So adorable you are and such a delight to so many people! He has great facial expressions and I don't think anyone wants to hear the word "no" no matter what age they are! So neat that he has that special bond with Mark (you too). Has Mark changed any diapers yet?

Happy birthday again to you. Happy first birthday to that cutie pie of yours. And wait - the older James gets - the more Mark's heart will melt.
Oh...he is just too adorable.
These candid photos are SO good! I love how you've captured James' curiousity … even his disappointment at the 'naked' pasta.

Happy Birthday to you both!
That’s a sweet story about the love between Grandson and Grandpa. Sometimes it takes that extra generation to get things going.
