I finished the big tree on Friday so all decorating is done. It feels so good to have that done. I was really stuck this year because I was changing things up which made it more difficult to decorate. That may sound crazy but when things have been in the same place for 13 years it just wasn't feeling right.
I remember being in our last house for 17 years and then we moved to this house. It was so different decorating and having things feeling right in their new spots. So this year everything is up high so James can't get to it or get hurt.
That was really a challenge. It all feels good now but I miss my tins, my nativities and my snow globes. Everything that is within his reach is plush and Hallmark singing snowmen that he can do whatever he wants with them.
As far as the tree goes we have a new cute white gate that will go around it. I will be putting the presents in another area for opening them. I will post pictures on Christmas Day!
So we babysat James on the 13th. We picked him up at daycare and had a fun time with him. Adam and Gabby were home for a little while so Gabby got him his dinner. We did his bath and played with him before he went down for the night.
Posing for Grandma....
Toilet paper fun.....
Fun on the couch after his bath....
Watching gramps open up a bottle of wine....
We actually went over last night to babysit too so I'll have some more pictures soon.
I'm not sure I told all of you that Amber had pneumonia after their trip here in October. She ended up being in pain a few days after she got home from the hospital.
She went back to urgent care, they took an x-ray and sent her home. She had a previously set up appointment with her primary doctor which she tried to get in earlier for but couldn't.
Thankfully when she did see her doctor he sent her for a CT scan. She fractured a rib from some coughing fits that she had. It is just now starting to feel better.

so sorry to hear Ambers was ill and fractured a rib. I have heard of coughing doing that but never coughed that hard myself. glad she is better. James just can't take a bad photo. no matter what he is doing or wearing, smiling or not he is soooo photogenic.. and adorable. his feet are precious.
Poor Amber, I hope she if feeling better. I have never fractured a rib from coughing, but I did get an xray once , to make sure. It seems those coughs linger forever. Enjoy your sweet grandbaby and Merry Christmas!!!
Poor Amber with that fractured rib! I can imagine it will be painful for a bit but at least she knows what was causing the pain! I love all the pictures of James, but he's so serious watching Mark open the wine :) I love that he can be creative and exploring too with the toilet paper :) Good that you got the decorating done! In a few years you'll be able to put things out where you want and James will be good to respect boundaries, but he, as you know, is too young to figure that all out now without getting frustrated with too many "no's" so you did great in that regard to keep things high and safe for him!
betty
Poor Amber - she has been through it all lately. I am so sorry - but I hope she will start to do better.
James is a living doll - I mean it. So sweet too.
I love his Santa suit.
I am going to take this next week off for Christmas - but I just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Happy New Year!
Love, sandie
Oh my gosh … poor Amber. And poor you, being so far away from her! James is so stinkin' photogenic. Love!
Using a white gate around the tree is a brilliant idea.
Oh no, poor Amber. Glad to hear she is feeling better though.
James is just too adorable for words. I never get tired of seeing pictures of that adorable face.
