ALL THE GLITTERS
1. Everyone has a birth stone and a birth flower. What are yours?
My birthstone is an Opal. Never been a big fan of the opal.
They say my birth flower is Marigold and Cosmos. I've never been a fan of Marigolds but we do have some in our garden which helps bring bee's to it.
2. Gold glitters and California is the Golden State. What is your state called?
I guess it's the Golden State! I grew up in Illinois and it was called The Land of Lincoln but I see that it is also know as The Prairie State but I never heard that one before.
3. "All that glitters is not gold' goes the old saying. Do you have a favorite saying or biblical verse you will share with us?
Not that I can think of but what's coming to mind is "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it."
4. Glittery greeting cards or plain? Which is your preference?
I'm definitely a plain card person. Working in a Hallmark store I had enough glitter to last me a lifetime!
Welcome to Tuesday 4 where we keep alive the weekly meme started by our good friend Toni Taddeo. I think she would be pleased to see people joining in.

Glitter does get everywhere, but I still love it!
I think opals are so firy and lovely.
Yes glitter can get messy so hubby says no glitter for the grands. Have a great week!
My birthstone is peridot which is not my favorite, either! I bought a card yesterday and ruled out glitter! Wishing you a blessed day.
My birthstone is aquamarine but I have no idea what my flower is. I like glitter but once you touch it it's everywhere.
My birthstone is a sapphire and I have no idea what the flower is. Our state is called the Sunshine State. I am not a glitter person and I don't like greeting cards of any kind. Just send me an email or a text or a message on my blog and I'm happy
My birthstone is aquamarine -- that I'm not fond of at ALL. I didn't think birthstones were even still a 'thing'! Call me 'plain jane', but I'm the least bling-y soul on the planet. No glitter, please!
I would imagine you have seen lots of glitter in your days at Hallmark, Debby. I know the view times glitter has been in cards its challenging to get it cleaned up. Have a great Tuesday!
betty
I just learned today that the gladiolus & poppy are my birth flowers. I had no idea! *lol* Thank you for educating me today, Debby! Love, Andrea xoxo PS~ I live in the "Hoosier" state. What the heck is a hoosier? Our state is a hoosier, they have hoosier cabinets, etc. ... so apparently somebody knows or knew at one time. :-D
Oh wow! I love opals and marigolds too. Loved your answers! Have a nice week!

Hi Debby, I'm not fond of my birthstone, either. sapphire.
Have a great week :)
I love my birthstone -- it's the ruby!
I'm also with you on the plain cards. Glitter is pretty but super annoying. lol
Amethyst is mine.
Say glitter goes everywhere and stays forever - drives me crazy - pretty I know - but crazy.
LOL .. the boys do not like glitter cards, I will have to tell Atticus about your working at Hallmark and all the glitter cards, he will get a kick out of that.
Opals are beautiful and delicate...love them! I’m an Illinois native too👋🏻
My birthstone is sapphire, which I love. But I think opals are beautiful, too!
The original from The Merchant of Venice (Shakespeare) actually uses the word "glisters" instead of "glitters."
"All that glisters is not gold
Often have you heard that told.
Many a man his life hath sold
But my outside to behold.
Gilded tombs do worms enfold."
