The Language of Flowers
Do you have a favorite flower?
I love sunflowers. This photo is from our trip to Europe when we drove from London to Italy.
Do you know your birth flower? How about your state flower?
It's Marigold or Calendula for October. I'm not familiar with the Calendula. Mark's father always had Marigolds in his backyard. I never cared for them and I didn't know then that they were my birth flower. Funny thing is that this year we planted Marigolds in our vegetable gardens.
Is there a plant you love having in the house or garden?
Years ago, back in Chicago, I worked in a flower shop. I had about 60 houseplants throughout the house. I can't really say I have a favorite. Right now I have these three plants on the kitchen table. My poinsettia from last Christmas, a variegated English Ivy and a Norfolk Pine from two Christmases ago.
If you could plant a dream garden, what would you plant in it?
Honestly I would love to have a garden of wildflowers and of course some sunflowers too!
Not my photo.....
Extra side note, today is 2 months since we lost our girl Skye. I miss her so much. I got some sweet gifts and cards in the mail. The pillow and mug I purchased for myself.

I don't really have a favorite flower. I couldn't tell you what my birth flower or state flower are either. I'm not big on plants in the house because I don't have a green thumb. I end up killing them. I do have one though that was Wades. He was the one that always watered it and took care of it. I'm surprised that it's actually still alive
I love all of your pictures. Thanks for sharing them.
I can relate to you missing Skye. We lost our dog years ago and we still miss her.
I enjoyed all of your answers today.
Have a good Tuesday my friend.
I absolutely love sunflowers too and I am always drawn to yellow flowers as a favorite overall.
Did you enjoy working in the flower shop Debby? I have the proverbial brown thumb lol so I don't have any house plants :) There is something about sunflowers though. Such sweet things given to you to help you in your grief with Skye. Never gets easier though with missing them.
betty
My answer is pretty much like Ann. The only plant I've ever been able to keep in the house is the pothos plant hanging in the kitchen. Is there because it's the only thing that lives and not because it's my favorite although it would do like it and I'm with you on the sunflowers I love sunflowers I love daisies and I love wildflowers and that's what would be in my garden. I share your heartache with the loss of our pet. I know how much your heart hurts with your house so empty from skye. Our hearts will never start aching but we will get better with time goes on.
I'm not a 'plant person' either ... and they know it. Love your sunflower images!
I love lilies! Your sunflower photos are beautiful!
Sunflowers make me smile too. Love the wildflowers picture. It takes time to grieve when you lose a pet. A friend sent me the Angel with the dog figurine. We had a few things we saved from Reina. Minnie is wearing her collar now. Enjoy the rest of your week and Happy Thanksgiving!
I also love sunflowers.
That's a beautiful tribute to Skye. 💖
Awwww... sending extra gentle hugs to you today, Debby, as you remember Skye and mourn her loss. If it has only been 2 months, then your grief is still very fresh and the wound of her passing is still not scabbed over yet. I have been there, as I'm sure many of your readers have too. Know that we understand completely and are right there next to you, holding your cyberhand. ~Andrea xoxo
A graden of wild flowers would be so gorgeous. We never forget our dear fur family. Hugs.

I'm so sorry you lost your pup. They never live long enough. 🙁
