Let's Do Lunch!!
This week the topic is lunch....
1. Lunch can be either glorious or bland, hard to choose or easy. Which is it for you and why?
Lunch would be easy for me to choose. However I haven't even been eating breakfast or lunch recently.
2. What are your choices for a nice lunch?
Most likely a sandwich or a bowl of soup.
3. Is lunch a big meal or a light meal for you?
It would be a light meal for me.
4. "Let's do lunch" has become a funny phrase used in movies and jokes and usually just a throw away kind of thing to say. Do you organize lunch with friends or family often? Do you eat out or in? If you eat out what is your favorite place to go?
I did lunch with my friend from bowling. We would go maybe once a month after we were done bowling. Of course that hasn't happened in a year!
I guess you could say we organize dinner with family. When we visit with Adam, Gabby and James we order a dinner for delivery. We social distance outside. We take turns each week on who pays for the dinner.
Normally it would be out to dinner with Mark. Haven't done that in a year. I'm so use to ordering something special to be delivered. We had Macaroni Grill last night because on Monday's they have buy one get one free if your in their program.
Maybe when we go out again I would choose a nice place in the town where Adam and Gabby live. We have several favorites that we would go to each week. I wonder when that will happen again???

What a fun topic... "doing lunch". Your answers are identical to what mine would have been, Debby. I can't remember what it feels like to sit in a restaurant & eat. I love your tradition of eating take-out outside, with your family! Love finds a way, doesn't it. ~Andrea xoxo
Altho I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner...most always they're light meals.
"Do lunch" isn't in my vocabulary.
Our 'big' meal of the day is at lunch; evenings are for snacking.
By man, I sure miss Macaroni Grill -- drinking copious amounts of red wine and coloring on the tablecloth. :) Unfortunately, the closest location is a 3-hr. drive.
Lunch is usually on the light side for me. Soup and sandwich or leftovers in the fall and winter. Salads or sandwich in the spring and summer. Once a month retirees from my school go out to lunch at a local restaurant. I haven't been to one of those lunches since February 2020. Our book club goes to a local pizza place every six weeks and we haven't done that since February either. We did get together for lunch in my backyard last June. Everyone brought their own lunch and we socially distanced and had a great time. We haven't been out to lunch (or dinner) in over a year. Even though we have both been vaccinated neither of us is comfortable eating out yet. We have done take out a few times.
I enjoyed reading your answers. I like soup for lunch sometimes too.. especially if it was home made.
I am bad about skipping breakfast and lunch.
I have missed having lunch with my friends. Hopefully this summer we can go out. Loved your answers! Have a nice week!

How can you last all day without eating? I'm so starved if I miss breakfast and lunch, but I don't eat heavy ones; a veggie patty and hard boiled egg for breakfast and cheese and crackers for lunch. I would definitely have no energy if I skipped them.
Its nice how you and Adam/Gabby have come up with a plan to have get togethers involving food and still feel safe doing so. Its also nice that you guys split the cost of the meals. Who gets to pick where you go? The ones paying?
betty
I don't eat big meals, I tend to graze on healthy, well-balanced foods throughout the day. We actually don't like restaurant food because we find it too salty.
I'm glad you're able to get together with your family at least sometimes.
Eating - grocery shopping - who we eat with - going out to eat - all different with Covid. I wonder if things will ever be the same again.
I rarely eat breakfast and lunch is a sometimes meal for me. If I'm at work I usually buy something small.
I love doing LUNCH. But I love doing dinner even more. Oh, lets face it, I like food!!
I certainly hope it won’t be too much longer until we get back to the way it used to be.
our lunch is our one meal a day that I cook, most would have it at night and call it dinner. we call it lunch. we eat breakfast and a snack at 5 pm, 3 meals, 2 snacks and try to stay away from food other than that. since the VIRUS it has been hard to not PICK
My lunch consists of two slices of bread with some cold meat. Only on some occasions would I go for something more fancy.
Not eating breakfast or lunch! I must have lunch and always eat a little something for breakfast. Actually dinner is the meal I could probably skip, but of course I don't : )
I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I eat more of a snack for a lunch.
I don't often eat a real lunch. I eat for the first time around 11, then not again until dinner (except snacks).
