Welcome once again to Tuesday 4 begun by Toni Taddeo and kept alive in her memory. Let's discuss the weather...
1. Spring is here. What do you like or dislike about it weather wise?
Well living in Southern California is definitely different than living in a state that's been dealing with Winter snow. What we get in the Winter is rain or Santa Ana winds. This year was very windy for months on end. I look forward to that stopping.
What happens in Spring is we start to get something they call May Gray or June Gloom where we don't see the sun until the afternoon. I like seeing sunshine each day.
However we have had a few days in the 80's already. I look forward to planting a garden. We have flowers throughout the year.
Something that surprised us is that our one strawberry plant from last year continued to grow throughout Winter. It has taken over the whole planter box.
2. How do you fare in humidity? Do you fade or come alive?
I don't care for humidity. I grew up with it in Illinois for 38 years and it's just a part of life. We do not have humidity here unless we get closer to 100 degrees. So I am just fine without it!
3. Do rainy days bother you or are you happy for an occasional break from the sunshine?
First of all I don't mind a rainy day as a rule because we always welcome rain here. What I don't like about the rain is that it never fails to happen on a day when I have to go somewhere and my car is clean in the garage.
4. In your opinion, what is the best thing about each season?
Being alive!

For me the best part about spring is seeing everything turn green. I never used to be bothered by humidity but the older I get the less tolerant I am of it. Rain doesn't bother me so long as it's not for several days in a row. I need the sunshine too
Hi Debby:
Love your answers.
WOW-the strawberries look yummy. Do you just slice
them for eating or make preserves or what?
Have A Happy Day!

Our country is still in winter mode. I think somebody upstairs forgot to flick the spring switch, as we still have hail and snow and frost. And even though I love winter, I do want it to be spring now. With green and flowers and sunshine...
Oh, your strawberries look luscious!! You just grow them in a planter box? How big is that? It would be nice to not have humidity to deal with. That is our biggest bugaboo here in Florida. It's not bad in the winter months, but starting late in April through October it can be pretty humid (and hot). But we don't have to deal with snow and ice in the winter so that is a good trade-off. We have AC to deal with the humidity! I guess every region of the country has its own plusses and minuses when it comes to the weather. We just have to adapt and be thankful for the good days!!
Amen to your #4.
Living in California and Florida are definitely different than other states, similar to each other but we have the nasty high humidity here. Your strawberries look fantastic!
we have mostly sunshine and can hardly tell the difference in seasons, the humidity drives me nuts and weighs me down and I can hardly move. that is why I love our fall/winter/spring days without humidity. Summer Slays me here in Flordia. i stay in the AC as much as possible... beautiful straw berries..
Being alive is good. ☺ I remember being in CA when it was overcast - but most of the time it is sunny. I am with you on the humidity too!
Look like you have a great garden growing. Have a great day...
What beautiful berries! I would love to have flowers blooming all year.
I adore spring. And don't mind the rains because a) it's still warm and b) it makes everything so lush.
Those strawberries look yummy! Love your answer to #4!! Have a great Tuesday!
PERFECT response to #4! There's little I miss about Arizona, but having an enclosed garage would be right up there.
Loved your answers. I think California has gorgeous weather! So much positive in that state weather wise.
I am jealous of you all that have not much humidity. I am in Missouri, so close to Illinois when you lived there. The humidity is awful. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

You are lucky you did not get those nasty mosquitoes. They even made the news! Nice that your strawberries are still growing. It was so hot last summer and our plants did not do well. I hope the summer is not as hot!
I love that you are growing strawberries and that they are producing so well. That is awesome.
I HATE humidity, we get our share of it in the summer here in Wisconsin.
I love rain but hate hot and humid. Upstate New York was bad in summer, down here in NM is so much better. I don’t take that for granted even after 46 years.
That was amazing about the strawberry plant! A very hardy one!! I do agree, being alive in any season is a good thing! I sometimes thought May and June were colder months than December and January when we lived in Southern California with May Gray and June Gloom!! I'm with you about humidity. I mentioned it before but when we went to my niece's wedding in Washington DC area back in September 2018, it was 95% humidity and 95 degrees. I thought I was going to die! Give me 115 degrees with 10% humidity over that weather!! We really don't have spring here as you probably know. Seems like we go from heater to air conditioner within days of each other; same when we transition out of summer/fall to winter.
betty
Being alive is a great answer💖
