TUESDAY 4

Spending Time...

I's time for Tuesday 4 started by Toni Taddeo and kept up in her memory.. are you ready to answer some questions?  Its a great way to discover more about yourself and others, make friends and have topics to blog about. This week let's talk about spending time....

1.Are you currently reading a book you'd like to tell us about? Maybe a TV program you can recommend to us?

No book at this time. I am enjoying Home Town. We are watching seasons we have never seen before. Just heard about them last year on HGTV which I believe was season five.

2. Are you a Jane Austen fan? So many seem to be. If you are what is your favorite book and who is your favorite character.  If you aren't a fan, is there an author you especially like to read? Favorite character..etc?

No. I really don't read but plan on starting soon and getting away from social media more often. I read romance novels.

3.  How do you spend your time during the day?  Do you set apart time to read, watch TV, study?

I've watch TV but getting bored by it. That's why I want to start reading and also work on decluttering. No set up time at this time.

4. Have your beliefs changed in your life time? New religion.. new politics? Or are they the same as they were growing up? Do you spend time thinking over the important things of life to take stock in your life?

I can't say that my beliefs have changed. I do have a closer relationship with God then I did when I was growing up. I spend time being a worrier so that has to stop!

Thank you Anne.

Hi Debby, I pretty much stopped watching the news after the elections. My crafting keeps my mind busy. I am slowly decluttering things in the garage.

I love Jane Austen, although not all of her work. My favourite would be Persuasion, closely followed by Pride and Prejudice.
I mostly read at work and can't seem to get going when at home for some strange reason.

I prefer to read the news rather than watch it, so I gave up TV news when Covid hit.

I am not a fan of Jane Austen and the only book I ever read was whatever they made me read in high school to graduate and I can't even remember what that was. I love Lee Child and David Baldacci and my favorite character is Lee Child Jack Reacher. I've read every book he ever wrote and most of them twice.

I too am a worrier but trying not to be and trusting God more. Since we got Winslow we haven't watched much TV which has been a good thing I think. I did binge watch some series I was watching on Netflix and when done with them I cancelled our membership. I have not read a lot of the classics like Jane Austin. Might have to some day.

I am also trying to declutter my house. It is hard after 35 years!
Glad you are getting closer to God.

Being a long time worrier myself, I pray you can get over it soon. PUtting our trust in GOd and living like you fully know He has you right in the center of His will makes for a happy life.. Troubles will still come yhour way. but knowing who is in control and loves you through them makes a huge difference!

Afraid I've a black belt in fretting ... so can't offer much advice. Best we can hope for is to hold hands (figuratively) and boost one another's spirits.

Hi Debby, I agree that watching TV can get boring, and also worrisome. I only watch the first few minutes of news to get Covid updates and also see what is happening internationally. I love to read though. I am on a long journey to decluttering. I'm finally seeing/feeling progress. Once I declutter I believe it will help me use my days more productively for study and learning and crafts. Have a wonderful week ahead.

I just rechargedvmy kindle after letting it sit for a long time. I don't read any particular author and only get free books. I tend to like cozy mysteries

I pick out a romance or two every summer to read. There are new ones in the summer. I have picked That Summer by Jennifer Weiner and People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry....that one is on the best seller list, so I am excited about it. Enjoy your reading. I can't wait to get back into it. Loved your answers. Have a nice week.

We are enjoying Home Town too. I love that their remodels are realistic and not all the same. Have you seen their new show "Home Town Takeover"? That's a good one too. I've read Jane Austen but so long ago I really don't remember any of them. Hubby and I spend quite a bit of "down" time, reading, watching television (we do this more in the winter than in the summer months) and playing word games. Now that we're older there is only so much we can do at one time and have finally learned our limits and when we need to stop and take breaks! I don't think my beliefs have changed, most have gotten stronger as I've gotten older.

I like biographies and history and at the moment am reading Laura Fermi's Atoms in the Family. They've just left Mussolini's Fascist Italy and moved to New York. Before this I read a biography of Max Planck and got a feeling for what it was like in Hitler's Germany for people who didn't leave.
