Welcome to Tuesday 4 in memory of Toni Taddeo!
This week's questions were provided by Pamela Steiner who has the Closed Doors Open Windows blog.
1. They say the kitchen is the heart of the home...tell us about YOUR kitchen. What is your favorite part of your kitchen?
I love my kitchen. I love my open cabinet tops that hold my tin collection.
2. If money were no object, what would be your "dream kitchen"?
I would like to have white cabinets and the old fashioned appliances. Our house was being built when we bought it but they had already sent in the cabinet choice because there was a deadline. Something like this but probably in yellow.
3. Tell us about a favorite memory from your kitchen, or from a kitchen in your past, perhaps your mother's kitchen or your grandma's kitchen?
I can't just pick one. Anytime the family is gathered for a holiday is a favorite memory. Times like these....
Carving pumpkins.
Also putting out a Christmas spread before dinner.
However, growing up, my grandparents who had moved to Florida would come to Illinois and stay in our fixed up basement for about 3 months. My grandmother, on my mother's side, was a wonderful cook and made the best chocolate chip cookies! Could smell her cooking upstairs in the house.
4. If you could invite anyone in the world (either past or present) to come visit with you in your kitchen, who would it be, and why?
I would love to have my mom in my kitchen. She's been gone 39 years. However right now I would like my dad, my brother and our dog Skye. I miss them all so much.
Thank you Anne.

Hi Debby, I enjoyed reading your post. I miss my parents and grandparents too!
My kitchen is too small but it could always be worse. I would love to have a big kitchen with an island to sit at.
You have had a year of loss - I'd like to see my family too - guess we never get over it. I like your kitchen - nice and big. And what memories - my grandma was a great cook too.
I like your kitchen, and would love to have a fridge that big. ours is tiny. i also love the kitchen you would have and could be happy with that in my house to. what i want is to take my kitchen down to nothing but the frame and put new walls and same footprint but new applainces and new cabinets. i like to think the 4 that you miss are all together now in heaven
Love your answers, and your picture of your kitchen. Would love to see your tin collection up close! Maybe you could post that sometime! And yes, #4, if we could have our loved ones back at our table again...I would listen to their stories so much more completely... Oh, I love your memories of things done around the table with your family. those are prices memories. Thank you for sharing this with us today.
I LOVE your kitchen, Debby! (But would hate to have to clean all that space, LOL) Having family at hand is priceless -- we all need this reminder to cherish those still in our lives.
Debby wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to have another family get-together in the kitchen with all our loved ones who have passed. Your kitchen is beautiful!
You have an absolutely WONDERFUL kitchen, Debby!!! I love it!!! ~Andrea xoxoxo
Your kitchen is wonderful!
I would kind of like to have a retro kitchen also, if I had a house to match.
I think everyone would love to have one more meal with or loved ones. I believe that just goes without saying.
Hope you have a great ret of the day!
A retro kitchen would be fun to have!! Happy Tuesday!
Having family around is just the best, isn't it?
Money is definitely a big factor as we design our kitchen but I'm still not sure I'd do anything differently.
Your kitchen is great. I think old fashioned appliances would be cool.
