2. Tell us about your Thanksgiving plans...are you hosting? cooking? eating out? turkey or some other main? is it stuffing or dressing in your house? homemade cranberries or cranberries in a can? are pies on the dessert menu? what kind? what are your 'must have' sides? Tell us one thing you're especially grateful for this year.
We are going to Adam and Gabby's. Gabby's sister does their Family Christmas Eve so Gabby is the host for Thanksgiving so her family will be there too. We have no one else in California. We love hanging with her family.
We are bringing the Green Bean Casserole and Sweet Potato Balls (very old recipe) which her family loves when I make them. Adam and Gabby are making the Turkey. I'm not sure about all of the other dishes that will be there but I hear that there will be a ham and a mac & cheese casserole.
I always call it stuffing, we really like the jellied canned cranberries and I love pumpkin pie. I actually made stuffing Tuesday night with some gravy along with some chicken breasts for dinner. I plan on making a small turkey for Christmas Eve this year for Mark and I.
3. If someone approaches you and asks for money do you give it to them? Do you drop money 'in a tin cup' that belongs to a person on the street? Do you have a specific charity you support during the holiday season and/or year round?
I haven't done that in a long time. Actually I don't even want to be on the streets anywhere anymore. There was a time I gave someone money and he went into a liquor store. I'd rather buy them something at a drive through or I like to keep extra water bottles in my car to hand out.
I do a few different charities during the year. I like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I have donated to the boxes for Samaritan's Purse and I have also put some together several years ago.
4. Have you started decorating for Christmas? Is your tree up? Shopping done? Wrapped?
No. No. No. No.
5. Create your own acrostic using the word THANKS.

My Hubby and I love to cruise. We have been on several.
1 to the Western Carribean, 1 to the Eastern Carribean, 1 to Alaska with my Mom and 1 up the Mississippi River on a steamboat..so much fun.
Thanksgiving will be at our home with just my son and his wife and 2 friends. Small this year as the grands have to share their time with their in laws.
Having the usual, turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad home made cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
I am so grateful for full recovery from my fall and from Dave's cataract surgery.
This getting older is hard stuff...
I give to several charities on a regular basis and to missionary friends that are out in the field.
I haven't even got things out yet for tomorrow Thanksgiving let alone Christmas..
I'm really SLOW this year.

As I was reading, I was thinking that I sure would like to read the recipe for sweet potato balls and then you posted it! What a fun recipe!! Happy Thanksgiving!
That recipe for sweet potato balls sounds so interesting and fun! Very unusual. I will have to try it sometime. Someone else is bringing the sweet potatoes this year. Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Amen to your acrostic! It's wonderful! As for giving to people on the street, I am pretty sure some of the people on the street I used to give money to used it for alcohol or drugs shortly after I gave it to them too. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
I like your acrostic. Thanks for sharing that recipe. I have never heard of that.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh, and we usually do the shoeboxes as well. We did not this year but I plan to do a donation still to Samaritan's Purse in honor of the grandparents.
Hi, Debbie!
I just clicked on your name on Pamela's blog, and I've decided to follow you here in blog land. Love your grand pups, and to this day, The Wizard of Oz is still my favorite movie.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Hello Debby, Sounds like a nice Thanksgiving gathering is planned with you included. That's so nice. The more the merrier! I loved your acrostic. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Happy Thanksgiving, Debby. Our son will be making a smoked turkey and the trimmings.
I love your acrostic and your sweet potato balls sound amazing. I've never heard of them.
I used to want to go on a cruise until I read a book about the Titanic.
We plan to put our tree up tomorrow. Thanksgiving day.
I don't do well with a lot of motion which is why a cruise is a big no for me. Your Thanksgiving sounds like a nice day, and I'm glad you have family to share it with. We enjoy our kids in-laws too. Have a great day!
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing the recipe for the sweet potato balls
