1. What does Christmas mean to you?
The birth of Jesus, family gatherings and love. Of course with James in our lives now it is fun to see his joy.
2. What's your favorite cozy holiday activity?
Watching a Christmas movie with Mark. We will watch two on Christmas Eve. They are usually old classics like It's A Wonderful Life and White Christmas.
3. Is all your shopping-wrapping-baking done? Tell us about your holiday plans.
Yes, my shopping is done and I mailed packages for out of town family yesterday. Gifts for Christmas day are not wrapped yet. I'm almost done with decorating, I just have to work on the big tree.
If I find time I will bake some Spritz cookies. Definitely on the 24th I will bake my Bohemian Houska for Christmas day. I think something that I miss is all the baking I used to do but we just don't want to eat it all anymore.
Mark and I will be home on Christmas Eve and plan on making a small bone in turkey breast and all the fixings. On Christmas day we will go to Adam and Gabby's. They used to come here but now that Santa comes to their house we go there.
4. If you were Santa what treat would you like to have left for you (it doesn't have to be milk and cookies!) What sweet or savory treat do you most look forward to indulging in around the holidays?
Interesting question! How about a glass of wine and some peanut butter cups. I look forward to my Houska which is a sweet bread with yellow raisins. We will also be having a very nice dinner on Christmas Day with lobster and rib eye steaks. (That's if we can't find Tomahawk steaks)
5. Next Wednesday is the first official day of winter (in the northern hemisphere). How does that make you feel? Tell us what you love most about winter?
I'm okay with Winter. Here in California it can be pretty nice outside. We seem to be having a good amount of rain this year which was not predicted at all. It is great for our drought. We had a snow capped mountain top yesterday morning. I guess I love winter because of Christmas.

What a breath taking view from your home to the mountains - you are so blessed!
Christmas means family and Jesus.
We are going to a theater Sunday to see It's A Wonderful Life.
I have finished my shopping too.
Your meals sound terrific too.
And of course seeing James at Christmas is awesome too.
Love, sandie
We always have a turkey, again, for Christmas but I'd much prefer steak!
You have such a beautiful view! We're making a ham for Christmas at my sister's house. Looking forward to seeing some Christmas pictures of James!
Merry Christmas!!
I love your view Debby!!
I enjoy getting cozy watching Christmas movies too. Last Saturday we watched White Christmas, I just love it. Sisters, Sisters .. that song is one of my favorites.

What a stunning view, Debby! I sure sounds like you will be having a wonderful Christmas, filled with family and fun. Baking is something I miss doing this year. With no grands living close by, it's just not something that's high on my priority list. Danny and I can't possibly eat that much!
Blessings!
I get it, Debby! From the time his daughters were little, my son always insisted on them waking up Christmas morning in their own house.
Two thumbs up for wine and peanut butter cups!
We're doing filets and lobster tails for Christmas Even, then a big ham for Christmas day. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Have so much fun with James...little ones make this time of year so magical!
Hooray for those snow capped mountains in California to help with your drought. Your Christmas plans sound relaxing and good. I'll have to google Houska to see what it looks like. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours.
What a fantastic view! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. ❤️
With the major sweet tooth I've had lately, any sweet treat would work for me and I'll take coffee instead of milk.
Nothing is better than enjoying Christmas through the eyes of a child. You are so lucky to live close enough to enjoy James!
Christmas means the birth of Jesus and family to me too.
I love the music of Christmas.
No shopping done yet but we are not doing much in the way of gifts this year. Financial reversals are never fun...But...the real value is being with family. We will miss our younger son and family since they live in another state and he's a nurse. His schedule is always a bit complicated.
Christmas Eve Hubby and I will be at our Son Steve's home with both of the granddaughters and their husbands. It's going to be a down home BBQ..including tri tip and potato salad..then we will all go to church .
Christmas Day the tribe will be at our house for stockings maybe a gift or two, breakfast and later a ham dinner when my caregiving friend and her daughter come for a few hours of food and fellowship.
I am so looking forward to being together.
Sue
