1. Did you watch the coronation of King Charles III? Share some of your thoughts about that, or about the royal family in general.
Yes I did. It was definitely long but seeing all of the traditions meant a lot to me. What an honor it is to be the King. I have to admit that I never followed the Royal Family until Diana was in the picture. I don't like that Camilla was crowned Queen.
I must admit that I am very much on Harry's side when it comes to how he has been treated. It can not be easy to be the second son born and knowing that he will never be in line to be King himself. Not to mention his beautiful wife and children. That's my opinion.
2. What are you the uncrowned queen of?
I am the Queen of Resilience. However, too much can bring you into depression also.
3. In a box of chocolates which one do you usually go for?
I like See's with nuts. However, my newest favorite is the dark chocolate heart shaped candy with peanut butter in it.
4. Something learned at your mother's knee?
I learned that she was a generous person.
5. 'Like mother, like daughter'...in what way is this saying true for you?
I feel that I can be generous too. I have found over the years that I have had close friends in trouble and I would help them out with some money to buy their children Christmas gifts.

Oh, I love the quote at the end. I am trying to learn that. I tend to do too much talking and not enough listening, and God has been helping me work on that. We did not watch the coronation. We are not fans of King Charles and most definitely not of Camilla. Just a bit of too much "pomp and circumstance" for me. I hope you have a blessed and wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Peace and Love...
I need that quote on my body in a tattoo to read so I can remember to practice being kind and not always insisting I am right. that is a personality flaw I have not overcome in my 78 years.
I watched most of the coronation, just to see the clothing they wore, and to see just how weird Katy could get. also saw the king and queen appear for moments on American Idol, bet that never happened before. I learned basic cooking skills from my mother and how to prepare food to be canned, but did not learn the canning skills. I can shell peas, snap beans and strip corn off the cob.
I enjoyed your random. :-)
Happy Mother's Day my dear Debby!
Love, Carla
Resilience ... that's a good one!
I could bear to watch the coronation and see old horse face where Diana deserved to be. I do, however, love watching the little Wales' - particularly Charlotte. Poised beyond her years! I hope I'll still be alive to watch her father's coronation someday.
Could NOT bear to watch, I meant!
Oooh, I forgot about the peanut butter filled chocolates. I love them too. I hope you have a happy Mother's Day Debby!
We had a friend who lived in California and he would send the family a box of See's chocolate candy every Christmas. It was a big deal when we would open it. I always loved the dark chocolate and nuts or the ones with coconut! I do love some chocolate and peanut butter together - yum! I don't eat candy anymore but if I did . . .yum!
I watched the entire coronation, too, Debby. How often do we get to be a part of such pomp, circumstance and history? Love your meme at the end, too.
Blessings!
I saw snippets of the coronation - just can't stand Charles and Camilla.
I don't like nuts - put dark chocolate and peanut I LOVE!
You are resilient! ♥
Sad to say I didn't watch any of the coronation. Not a fan of Charles or Camilla.
I think I am the Queen of steadfastness and loyalty. If I say I am going to do something it can be counted on to be done.
Ummm my chocolate go to is anything with caramel in it..drool.
Patience and kindness from my Mom. Hospitality was her strong suite and I think it's mine too.

Some damn good answers, I didn't watch the coronation just the highlights the following morning, I wouldn't want to be a royal and I am queen of nothing also. I do like nougat type chocolate. Mum taught me many things like you can't argue with a drunk and the older I get the more like mum I become.
I'm not a King Charles fan, although I think he's mellowed with age and perhaps done some character improvement. I don't like Camilla and personally don't think she should have been crowned. Diana was not a saint, of course, but I can't help but think that she would have had to endure a great deal of unhappiness if things had turned out differently and she would have been queen. :-( My opinion of Harry and Meghan is quite negative though.
Hi Debby,
I agree with you about Harry & Meghan and their family. I watched a movie about their romance. Meghan didn't try to keep him away from the royal family. It is so sad the way things turned out. Especially, according to the movie, the Queen had to approve of their marriage, which she did.
Oh my gosh, I love See's candy. Someone recently sent me a box and it had those peanut butter hearts in the mix. Those are amazing.
I enjoyed your answers. I haven't paid much attention to the royal family but would possibly be interested in reading Harry's book. I do agree, that his position as 2nd born would be hard, but he could also have chosen to embrace it and find the areas of service that he would shine. Maybe that's what he's done.
