hack, impact, at the end of the day, rizz, slay, iconic, cringe worthy, obsessed, side hustle, wait for it
Which of these words/phrases would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why? Are any of these a regular part of your speech? Is there a word not on the list that you'd like to add?
Rizz, slay, cringe worthy and side hustle can be banished. No none of these are part of my regular speech. I can't think of a word right now to add to this list.
2. What do you wish you'd done more of last year? Less of?
I wish I would have done the decluttering I talked about and also walked on my treadmill more. I wish I had watched less TV.
3. A place you'd like to visit in this new year? Do you think you will?
I don't have a place that I would like to visit other than going to Montana to see Amber and Dylan. God willing we will go a few times this year.
Last year, because of Mark's fall, we never got around to visiting them. We did see Amber in January last year at my mother in laws birthday party in Houston and they did come here to visit in October for James' 5th birthday.
4.What are three words to sum up or describe your 2023?
Illness - Appointments - Sadness
However, the best part of 2023 was spending time with James, Adam, Gabby, Amber and Dylan.

I spent to much time in the house, it bothers me that i am content to stay home and never go anywhere but out for food, gas and doctor visits. not because I can't go out, I just don't. three words for 2023? boring, anxiety, tired
When I have things I need to do and also then things I would rather do (lol) I will set myself a timer and work for a set amount of minutes or an hour or two and not allow myself to turn on the tv or scroll my phone until that timer rings. Amazing how effective that is for me. Take care of your health as that is most important. I hope you get to Montana this year!
Happy New Year! I hope you get to Montana.
I hope you will get to see family a lot this year and that you get to Montana!
Hope this new year brings you opportunities for new joys shared with family, Debby. Blessings!
Most of those words to be banished aren't in my vocabulary and some I never heard of..
I just like to travel and just GO !! Hope we can do some this year but we have a car that's a bit sketchy to go very far, and no money to fly anyways.
2023 was financially SCARY, but the BLESSINGS were many, trying to be more POSITIVE .
One foot in front of the other and trying to not look back.

Hi Debby, I do hope you have a healthy 2024!! I pray you are able to travel to Montana this year. And soak in as much of your family as you can, especially James.

I don't think I use any of those words and I HATE the word hack. I would also banish legit and literally.
I wish I would have done more getting out of the house and less procrastinating.
None of these words strike a chord, but I'm at a loss right now to think of an alternative. "Rights", perhaps?
I love your random thought. Tom's being treated for both anxiety and depression, so I know the struggle is REAL.
Hi there I can agree with doing away with some words such as hack, side hustle and wait for it these annoy me I don't know why they just do. I am sure there are other words but nothing come to mind.
I wish I went out more and not let things bother me, easier said then done.
I can't think of a damn thing I would like to do or a place I would like to visit but it doesn't matter, as I go nowhere anyway.
Up an down
Take it slow and not let things get to me
Life is a book, a wonderful book, made special through the years with each chapter engraved on one's heart with some joy each day.
I don't use to many of those words - maybe a couple - frankly I don't care - lol.
Sounds like you are a bit tired and frustrated - I am so sorry girl.
I don't go out much either - thanks to Covid kind of changing the world - you know what I mean.
I know you enjoy your James and I hope you get to see Amber!
I'm amused by rizz. The Oxford University Press picked it as the word of the year. Apparently it's used by the Gen Z generation and doesn't that useful for us.
Three words that come to min for my 2023? Relaxed, happy, Spanish. Fingers crossed for all of us in 2024. 🤞❤️
"come to mind", of course. And "isn't that useful for us". Some days are better than others. 😊
Lord willing, you'll be able to visit your daughter this year. That would be so nice for you.
That's some good advice for the year, Debby. I do hope you can travel to Montana this year. Happy 2024 to you and yours!
I'm sorry that the words that first came to mind for 2023 carried sadness. It wasn't an easy year for some of us, was it? Your advice for 2024 is so good, and I pray it's a great year for you and that you'll be able to visit your daughter!
I like your "random thought" at the end, and will claim it, since "strength" is my One Word for 2024. I will be praying for you as well, to have that strength and hope and new dreams in the new year. Praying you will be able to see your family more in Montana and have a year of much joy. ...Oh, I love the picture of Drew Barrymore from Ever After, one of my all time favorite movies. Makes me want to watch it again. Have a blessed week and New Year my friend.
Blessings for a joyful new year.

Better late than never commenting...lol. I need to get on my treadmill today. My hubby got me a desk/tray for my treadmill so that I can get on it and walk at a slower pace rather than sitting on my computer. I love it. I'm hoping 2024 is a year of joy and health for you and your hubby.
