WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #534

Thank you Joyce.

1. On January 18th we commemorate A.A. Milne's birthday. Milne is the author of the beloved classic Winnie the Pooh. In many ways Pooh represents innocence and simplicity. His optimism reminds us to appreciate the little things. What are three little things you're appreciating in mid-January?

We saw Adam, Gabby and James on Saturday.
I finally got my Christmas tree down. (Still have some packing up to do)
My lungs are doing well and that makes me happy.

2. Piglet teaches us even the smallest of individuals can achieve big things with the proper amount of determination. How do your current responsibilities make you feel?

I'm afraid I am not Piglet. I feel overwhelmed with the challenges I have set for myself on purging things in the house. I have to keep telling myself "one day at a time!"

3. Tigger is known for his enthusiasm and energy, his boundless joy and love of life. What's something you're interested in learning more about in this new year?

I really need to concentrate on eating as healthy as I can to bring down my cholesterol levels because I am not able to take statins. I love life, I love my family and I want to be here to see James grow up.

4. Eeyore, while a melancholy character, teaches us the importance of resilience and perseverance. How do you stay motivated and persevere in difficult circumstances?

I really have to push myself and like I posted a few weeks ago, I have to keep telling myself "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

5. What's the last thing you ate that was made with honey?

I can't think of anything I ate with honey but I have had some tea with honey in it.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Happy 96th Birthday to my mother in law Vivian whose birthday is Friday the 19th.

We celebrated her 95th last year in Houston.

.........................................................................................

When we visited James on Saturday he was having fun building things.

I'm happy to read that your lungs are doing better and that you got your tree down! Well done. Happy birthday to your Mother-in-law who our son shares a birthday with. I hope your Wednesday is a good one!

Happy Birthday to your MIL! She is certainly a testament to vigor in old age. Glad to hear that your lungs are doing better, too, Debby. As for the cholesterol, ask your doctor about Rapatha. It's been working for Danny, who has had bad cholesterol since I've known him.
Blessings, and keep enjoying sweet James!

That is a good verse to remember.

I've seen other pictures of children with similar building sets, those look fun and that they have many possibilities.

Happy New Year

Hi Debby, I am glad your lungs are doing better. I agree, one day at a time. I am still putting away Christmas. I also have purging to do and our give away pile is growing bigger. James looks cute as ever! Happy Birthday to your MIL. Enjoy the rest of the week!

I am appreciating my family and the prospect of seeing younger son and family tomorrow. Appreciating making a bit of cash from eBay and the friends I have gained through the Blog.

Sometimes I do get overwhelmed with my responsibilities but I try to just keep plugging along.
Think I am a combo of all the Pooh characters but Eeyore is my favorite. I hold on to that bible verse too. Couldn't do anything without Him.
Corn Bread with honey for Christmas dinner..yummm
so glad your lungs are doing better.

I have heard of A A Milne but never read Winnie the Pooh

January is just a month we have a few(8) birthdays in the family during the month with the main ones for me being Sam, Sydney-May and Tim but we don't do anything for birthdays.

I think Piglet is cute

My eldest daughter loved Winnie the Pooh but mostly Eeyore

I try to stay positive in life but easier said then done at times.

The last thing I had with honey was toast with honey something I like a lot.

Lastly honey is sticky and hard to get out of someone's hair.

Happy Birthday blessings to your MIL!
I've never read Winnie the Pooh, but relate to Eeyore most often. Every day's a challenge but yes. We can do all things through Christ!

It was agriculture day at the Florida Capitol and I picked up one of those honey straws and I put it in my tea this afternoon. It was quite nice.

I enjoyed reading your answers. Your post made me think about what my answers would be. I have to admit after thinking about them I found a lot of room for self improvement.

I'm so glad your lungs are doing better. I totally get the need to make healthier choices, and yet sometimes it's so hard.
