WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #572

Thank you Joyce.

1. Thursday is National Walk To A Park Day. I know these celebratory days are mostly made up, but some are fun to think about. Do you live close enough to a park to walk to one on Thursday? Will you? The most famous park in the world is Central Park located in NYC. Have you ever been to Central Park? What did you think? If you haven't been is this a place you'd like to see?

Yes there are some parks I could go to but I don't. We live at the very top of a hill and I would not be able to get back up the hill with my COPD.

Yes, I have been to Central Park and loved each moment walking around.

2. Something you've done recently that turned out to be a 'walk in the park'?

I have several things to accomplish which I keep putting off. I had to do paperwork online for T. Rowe Price because when you're turning 73 you have to start collecting money from your account.

I still have to renew my drivers license. However, it doesn't expire until next year so in the meantime I have to renew my passport. I hate stuff like this. I don't have the real ID yet. My license had expired during the pandemic so it was just a mail in renewal.

3. Can you parallel park? Do you have to do this often where you live?

No, I've never been good at it. Here I am with a mini cooper and I still don't want to do it!

4. The colors of fall...red, brown, russet, golden bronze, golden yellow, purplish red, light tan, crimson, orange red, and scarlet. Are these colors you like to wear? Is this your season in terms of color? What about your home? Would we see these tones in your home decorating?

No, I don't wear these colors. I can't think of a season for my clothing. No, nothing in the house either.

5. What part of history do you find most interesting? Elaborate.

I've never been a history buff. I find the history of when my parents grew up in the 30's pretty interesting and I like history in the 50's when I grew up. Those were pretty awesome times. Things have really changed since then.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I had a lovely birthday celebration with Adam, Gabby and James on Saturday evening. We went to a lovely seafood restaurant. Mark and I had gone to Cheesecake Factory on the 3rd which was my birthday.

I made a point of getting a photo of James and I. I go through my photos often and since I'm the one always taking photos, you barely see a photo of James and I. So I made sure to get one.

My cards and gifts.

I got this card from James before my birthday but hadn't shared it yet.

James has his 6th Birthday party this Saturday. We can't wait to go. His birthday is on the 16th and we will be going out to dinner with them that night too. We have a few small gifts for him but this is what he is getting on Saturday from us.....

It's so true...I take lots of pics of my hubs with the grands but there are not a lot of me. Trying to make more of a point to do that. Looks like you are well celebrated! I need to sort out that real ID too. I think our licenses expire in 2025 so it would be nice to make it a one time thing. They keep putting off the date for when the real id will be required. We have passports so not sure we even have to do it. I am like you and dread those sort of tasks. Have a great day!

I really need to get over to the County Courthouse and get that Star ID ... perhaps a passport, too. (I deliberately let mine lapse, but one never knows.)
I'm so glad your family celebrated you the way you deserve! James is going to be over the moon about that bike!

Wow, lucky James. that's one gorgeous bike. He's growing by leaps and bounds for sure.
1. We do have several small parks near us but due to health issues we haven't been walking like we should be doing.
Yes, we have been to Central Park. Loved it .
2. Nothing really has been " a walk in the park" lately. Everything seems to be like going UP hill but PTL we just got renewed for Financial Assistance from Kaiser for another year. That sure helps with the bills.
3. I can parallel park but I avoid it at all cost. Hate it.
4. I am absolutely Fall all the way. My favorite colors to wear and you can find them throughout my home.
5. I find the days of the old west interesting and also the history around bible times. Going to Israel back in 2001 just made the bible come alive.
6. Have a great time celebrating James' birthday.

James will absolutely love that bike, Debby! I hate having to do all kinds of paper work, too, and I have to renew my driver's license soon. The DMV is not a great place to stand in line - LOL!
Blessings!

What a sweet card from James.
I can't parallel park to save my life. I won't even try.

That card from James was just awesome. I know all you have to do is look at it and it brings you joy.
I like ancestry too.
The other day I tried to back into our garage - I hit the little bricks so hard I blew my tire! lol
Your picture with James is so cute.

Great photos, I can parallel park I just prefer not to, not that I drive any more and I do not understand why you need to be able to do it in order to get your licence because in car parks you either drive in or reverse in

Happy belated birthday! I'm glad you had a nice celebration. Nice to see a picture of you with James too.
I like pictures with reflections and that bridge picture is so peaceful.

Happy Belated Birthday! I love that picture of you with James. I was never any good at parallel parking and am glad I don't have to do it!

I would love to see James' face when he gets the bike. He is such a sweet, happy boy. Our passport has also expired, but not sure we will be needing one in the future, although I would love to make a trip to Athens, Greece next year to meet our Great grandchild #6 who is due in January.

don't you just love those sweet notes. I recently found one written by my oldest grandson, Caleb. He could not havde been six or seven. He will be 24 on the 23rd of this month. WOW....he sure is getting OLD. Parallel park? HAHA I can if the cars I am parking around have given me the room. LOTS OF ROOM. However, I make it a point to park elsewhere if I can. I never seem to get close enough to the sidewalk or whatever. No, I basically never have to park that way, thank goodness for small favors!
