2. It's Department Store Day (October 16)...do you still shop in department stores? If not do you miss that kind of shopping experience? Do you have a favorite department store? Any fun memories of department store shopping when you were a child?
I haven't really shopped in a department store since the pandemic started but even then I wasn't really going shopping at any malls.
Actually I am not missing it at all. I think I have fond memories of shopping at the mall. Especially around the high school years with friends.
3. Something you're currently nuts about?
Obviously I am nuts about being a grandmother to James.
4. What's your favorite nut and is there a favorite recipe where this nut is used?
I actually like most nuts. I currently buy a mixed nut from Costco, unsalted. It has cashews, pistachios, almonds and pecans.
I haven't made them in years but I would make pecan tassies at Christmas.
5. On Wednesday we officially reach the '70 days until Christmas' mark. Have you purchased any gifts? If you don't celebrate Christmas then how about Hanukkah presents?
It's all coming too soon, however I am thinking about gifts. I usually ask for suggestions. Actually at this point I have gifts for all the dogs in the family.

They grow up fast. My little nephew just turned eight.
I just noticed your "I love giraffes" square on the left. They are beautiful, aren't they?
Oh, those pecan tassies look good! I haven't had one of those in years. Christmas shopping? Oh NO! Not again! I am the world's worst procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. Just thinking about it makes my palms sweat and I start getting all tense. But actually I have already bought a couple of things, now that I remember it! LOL. I keep trying to start early. It's just not in my make-up. LOL. So happy for James being a big 6 year old boy now! He sure is a cutie pie! You are blessed to live near and get to watch him grow! (((hugs)))
Love that you have gifts for all the dogs : ) My mom used to make pecan tassies but that's one I haven't tried. My hubs loves them so I guess I should pull that recipe out this year. Have a great day!
I love nuts, and the mixed nuts sound good that you get at Costco. :-)
I still cannot believe James is 6 years old!!
xx oo

Happy Birthday, James! I don't even want to think about Christmas yet, but I guess I need to do some shopping ahead of time. Blessings, Debby!
Dave and I met at the Roger Williams Baptist Club that met on campus at San Francisco State College. Dated and married way back in January of 1964.
Love nuts but they really don't like me. I have to be careful. Walnuts have too much tanin in them and my mouth gets too sore.
Nope, no presents yet. Going to be a frugal one this year but as long as we can be together that's the most important thing.

My goodness, what long legs James has! It's been a joy to watch him grow on your blog, Debby.
I love all sorts of nuts, but my favs are Macadamia and Pistachio. Of late, it's getting harder and harder to find them unsalted. I wonder why?
TheHub and I met at a party at his college apartment. One of my good friends from high school days was there and introduced us. We have been a couple ever since that meeting.
Happy Birthday to James! I'm sure his party was a hit. Those pecan Tassies look great! Glad your dating resumed after high school and that it ended up in your marriage!
Great picture of you and James and your grandmotherly pride shows on your face.
I don't even think of Christmas before Halloween! But I'm lucky and don't have many presents to buy any more. ❤️
I met my first husband in high school and Wade I met online.
I don't do department stores often but I remember when I was growing up they sure were a big thing.
Don't know if I'm nuts about anything but my favorite is cashews.
I haven't shopped in department stores in a long time either. They seem to be dying out. I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. James is a doll. I only like peanuts and almonds. My husband hired me at Motorola in Chicago.
