Thank you Joyce.
1. Talking turkey...are you cooking the turkey this year? Does ham belong on a Thanksgiving day menu? When it comes to gravy do you pour it over your whole plate, skip it altogether, or land somewhere in between? Cranberries-homemade or jelled right out of the can? Do you look forward more to the main course, the savory sides, or the desserts?
I know there are at least a couple of bloggers who participate here who live outside the US and won't be celebrating Thanksgiving. If that's you feel free to adapt this question to your December (or any) holiday meal.
No, I am not cooking a turkey this year although we did a small bone in turkey breast a few weeks ago that had been in the freezer for awhile.
I know people like ham on Thanksgiving but I'm not a big fan. I do love gravy on the turkey, dressing and mashed potatoes.
I will usually use canned jelled cranberries. I took one over to Adam and Gabby's on Saturday. That's where we will celebrate Thanksgiving.
I have to say that I look forward to all three of those.
2. Holiday movies...tell us your favorite and what it is about the film that makes you love it. Is it the film itself or a memory it stirs?
I always watch "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve. I'm not sure if it stirs a memory other than watching it for as long as I can remember. My dad managed a movie theater and I may have seen it there around the holidays.
There are other favorites I have too and I will be watching them closer to Christmas.
3. A favorite way to give back and help others?
I like to donate money to St. Jude's Hospital.
4. Name a place or setting you encountered this month that made you feel grateful.
I was grateful to be at James' school for "bring a loved one to lunch" day.
5. Knowing what you know today, if you could redo yesterday what would you do differently?
I'm drawing a blank here.
6. Spill your own random thought here.
I had mentioned last week that we were celebrating Mark's birthday (18th) this past weekend. We had a lovely dinner out and some delicious coconut cream pie.

love the photo of Mark and James, really good one of both of them. Not cooking turkey or ham, but love both but TG is not TG without turkey, I just don't want to cook. I had turkey on TG every year of my life until 2006.
we both love leftovers. no gravy for me, but doubles for bob. I love cranberries every way they can be made, but my favorite is the jelled can, not the whole berry, the fake stuff. that is all mother had, so hooked on that. I am going to cook cranberries today because it is on my yes list of foods. also cooking apples for bob. happy thanksgiving
My hubs would be very happy with a coconut cream pie as his birthday treat. I usually make him a blueberry pie on the day as they're in season then. I love St. Judes...they are a wonderful, well-run organization and especially as our family has been touched so profoundly by childhood cancer. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Debby!
I love that picture of Mark and James! Thanks for the mention of cranberry sauce. Our Publix dinner's supposed to include cranberry/orange relish, but I don't think that's the same thing. I hope you and your loved ones enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Debby!! Enjoy your family time.
I have not had coconut cream pie in a looong time... I want a slice after reading your post. Hee hee!
