I don't have any answers yet on my ankle. It was great seeing Dr. Lercel, however I have to see an ankle specialist and he is getting me a referral.
What I need is called an ankle fusion. You can Google it. I have a lot of questions and not sure at this time what I am going to do.
Obviously I have to see what the ankle specialist recommends. The recovery can take 4 months or more. I've been dealing with the pain I have now and I might see if I can wait awhile to have this done. I also need to have cataract surgery.
I realize that this will sound crazy to you, but we have two important trips that we want to take and I do not want to miss them.
Amber and Dylan will be moving into their new townhouse, which is currently being built, and that could happen in March or sometime early next year.
Second, my great niece is getting married at the end of April. I have not seen any of my family in Florida since the pandemic started. This trip is so important to me. So I am definitely struggling with decisions that will have to be made.
Thank you for listening. I will update you when I know more.

I do hope you can manage the pain and be able to go on those special trips. Family and making memories are so important. Will be interesting to see what the specialist has to say and how you can work out all the little "bumps" on the road of life. Put it in the Lord's hands...I will too.

Yes, please keep us updated on your ankle and what you decide, Debby. Those trips sound extremely important for all in your family, so I will keep you in prayer that you will be able to do those. Blessings!
Of course, you need to go on those two trips - I would wait if I could or if the doctor says you can travel with it done? Let us know.
I'm sorry you don't have any answers yet. I can totally understand wanting to wait till you get both of those two trips in before you do anything.
I totally agree, you need to make those two trips -- if for nothing else but your own peace of mind. Is there anything (topical) the doctors can prescribe to alleviate some of the pain ... perhaps a boot? Waiting is the worst, but don't forget you've a whole cheering section here on Blogland rooting for you.
I do hope you can hold off on the surgeries without doing more damage. Stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas.
Blessings to you in 2025 Debby! Hope it is a year of healing and recovery.
Thanks for the update, having surgery isn't nice but if it need to be done, it needs to be done
Thank you for the update, and we understand why those trips are so necessary. I hope you can enjoy Christmas in spite of the pain. We will be praying for you. ❤️
Merry Christmas, Debby! I understand you wanting to wait. Enjoy your day with your family!
