2. What are your thoughts on tipping? What businesses or service providers do you regularly tip? Do you resent being asked if you'd like to add a tip? What about when a suggested amount is presented?
We always leave a tip when we go out to eat, although we haven't been doing much of that lately. I give my hairdresser a very nice tip. I don't think anyone should suggest an amount. I do believe that a tip is a nice thing to do.
3. I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream...do we? Is ice cream a favorite treat at your house? What's your favorite flavor? Regular, soft serve, gelato, sherbet, or some sort of non-dairy version of ice cream...what's your pleasure?
We have a vanilla ice cream in the freezer from Costco that I love. However, I don't eat it very often. I just like to know that we have it.
Mark ran to Costco recently and I told him if they don't have the ice cream get some drumsticks. Well they had the ice cream and he also bought a pack that had like 16 drumsticks, 12 ice cream bars and 12 ice cream sandwiches. It's way to much!
4. What's your 'back in my day, we____________________ ' story or saying?
All I can think of is that back in the day, when I was growing up, we could do so much more than the kids today. We could be gone most of the day and our parents didn't have to worry about us. Kids can't do that anymore.
I am also very concerned about James growing up with AI. I don't like it at all.
5. Somehow this is our last Hodgepodge in the month of June. Next week's Hodgepodge lands in July. Wow. Sum up your June using three adjectives.
As you know, my health has really messed up most of this year. However the rest of this month hopefully will be awesome traveling to see Amber and Dylan. I still need prayers with my lungs. We will return home on the 4th of July.
CHALLENGING - SCARY - BLESSED
6. Insert your own random thought here.
As you know from my post yesterday, I will not be around reading blogs. However, I might get a chance to read some. We shall see.
I also may not be able to link up today's post and next weeks because I will be in the car both those days. I don't know how to do it from my phone. However, my post should be there for you to read.

Back in my days, we could not wear pants to school, in Savannah GA except once a month when they allowed a special day. have fun on your trip, prayers you will stay healthy while on vacation
Tipping should be based on how good the service was. I hate when people argue that a person depends on tips to support themselves. In that case they should learn better customer service skills then. I don't like being told I have to give a certain amount.
I wanted to buy ice cream yesterday when I was out but I was afraid it would melt too much before I got it home.
Safe travels and wishing you good health! We’ve been eating more ice cream around here. Our granddaughter loves drumsticks without the nutty coating.
My hubs would be so happy to have a freezer full of ice cream treats like that : ) Hope you have a wonderful trip. I will add your link today. Safe travels and enjoy time with your daughter!
My husband was just talking about this the other day, Debby....how he used to leave in the morning, on his bike with his buddies, come home for lunch, then go out again....to come home for supper & then go out one more time until dusk. He said he was on his bike all day long. My parents would never allow me to ride my bike to quite that extent but I sure would ride it around & had such a fun time doing it. The poor kids of today. Crime & also technology has taken away so much from them. Hope your trip is going smoothly & you're having fun. ~Andrea xoxo
I agree, a tip should be up to you and not a suggested amount.
I had so much more freedom compared to what my girls had growing up. The world just doesn't feel as safe as it used to. AI scares me, I've seen the movies where it eventually takes over!
I hope you have a great time visiting Amber and Dylan. Thinking of you.
Yes! We would play outside from sun up until sun down! Our parents didn't have to check on us. I couldn't even fathom letting Mason do that now. I'm sorry to hear about your health and pray it gets better. I've had a scary health journey this year. Safe travels!
Great answers, Debby!
I'd probably be too chicken to say so out loud, but "back in my day" I think young people took more pride in their appearance. Not until senior year high school were girls even allowed to wear slacks!
Enjoy your time with family Debby! I cannot wait to see the new Great Falls, Montana house. :-)
Praying for safe travels.
Carla
It does make me sad to think of this world our grandchildren are growing up in, where they can't be free to play outside, roam and explore safely as we were able to do, Debby, and AI is a real concern, too. Have a wonderful trip!
