4. What's one thing about you that is still the same as it was when you were young?
Not feeling good enough about yourself. It's hard growing up in a house where your mother is an alcoholic.
5. September is National Preparedness Month...does your family have an emergency plan? Do you have some sort of preparedness kit you keep on hand? If so, tell us one thing that's kept there.
No, we really don't have an emergency plan but we should have one. I should have important things in one place that we could grab when we leave.

We went to Adam and Gabby's on Sunday. It was such a nice day. Adam, Gabby, James and Mark went swimming in the pool. Then they made a delicious dinner.
Adam makes the best meatballs, absolutely delicious. We had meatball sandwiches and a beautiful salad. I should have take a picture.

I don't know if I could come up with answers for any of these.
I had my kids here on Sunday and we had meatball sandwiches too.
Their pool is pretty. I love a meatball sub and haven't had one in ages. Might have to do that one of these football Saturdays. I'm sure growing up with an alcoholic parent is incredibly hard and impacts you all your life. You have made a lovely life with your own children and your sweet James though, and should feel proud of that.
I agree with Joyce. Hugs and prayers. ❤️
Hi Debby, my husband grew up with an alcoholic father.
Very difficult childhood memories.
Sending you a HUG!
I love the pool photos.

My mom had an opiate addition to her percription medication and she drank. Talk about dysfunction! I still have the emotional scars.
I'm glad you could spend time with your family, Debby. Danny makes amazing meatballs, too, just like his Italian grandmother did. Blessings!
Hi Debby...you have a lovely blog. My first time to visit. The pool looks so refreshing and the meatballs sound so good. I rarely make them. Glad to visit here today.
Yes, I often say to myself, "God helps those who help themselves." (Sometimes through gritted teeth, lol.)
How nice that you had that space for your grandparents to stay in when they traveled to visit. That pool time looked refreshing and the meatball sandwiches sound very good!
Grandparents' day - lol. Nice. So, your grandma's cooked - mine did too. Hey, your sons pool looks so wonderful! Wish I had one. Well, we have a neighborhood pool.
