1. What's something you may do this month?
I'm not sure. I know we are going out to eat with Adam, Gabby and James on Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day.
Mark will be going out of town on his yearly fishing trip to Canada with his brother.
I'm not really sure about the dates for that yet. I believe he is going to stop and visit with his mom in Texas also. (I'm not ready to be alone right now with all that I've had going on.)
2. Hola! Hodgepodge Day lands just after Cinco de Mayo... how do you feel about Mexican food? What's your favorite dish? Do you make it at home or is it a strictly dine out option?
I like Mexican food. We don't get it very often. We don't seem to go out to eat like we used to all the time before the pandemic started. We do end up getting some Taco Bell. No, we really don't make it at home.
I like their Chicken Cantina Bowl. It's my favorite.
3. When the children of today grow up what do you think they'll say about this time period? What do you most hope they remember?
Seriously I can't even begin to think how they are going to feel about this time period. I don't like that AI is around. I hope James remembers Mark and I with great love as his grandparents.
4. What advice would you give a new mother?
Love your baby with all your heart. It's okay to let them cry themselves to sleep. It's okay if the house gets a little messy. Time flies by quickly and they grow up too fast.
5. What's a phrase your mother often said to you? If you're a mom do you say it to your own children?
I don't recall my mom saying a phrase to me.
I just tell my children how much I love them all the time.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Adam, Gabby and James went out of town this past weekend. Gabby's sister's kids has some water polo finales. They went along to watch and they brought the dogs too. I believe they had cabins that they rented. They were in the San Diego area. Adam sent me a few photos.

Oh, that James is growing up so quickly! He's starting to look more like a young man! They grow up so fast. I am sure he will remember how much you both love him. He's blessed to have you so close by so you can spend so much time with him. We had mexican food for supper last night, but I totally did not think about it being Cinco de Mayo! I cook what I call taco meat, and then we can do whatever we want. I had a taco salad. Hubby had burritos. It was good. I hope you are feeling some better, and yes, I can imagine you aren't ready to be left alone. Hopefully your kids will check on you or spend some time with you while your hubby is away. I hope you have a blessed Mother's Day!!
That's my hope, too, Debby, that my grandchildren will always know and remember how much their Papa and Gammie loved them. When I see young moms at the store or the park, I admire their babies and tell them the same thing: treasure every moment as it goes by way too quickly. Praying for you!
I'm glad you have some nice Mother's Day plans. I read your previous post too and I'm with Mark...get the housekeeper and take that one thing off your list. It might help you feel better. I hope the ankle is much improved following the procedure. Happy Mother's Day to you!
That was good news that a lot of debris was extracted and that your bones look good, Debby. Hope things improve. Glad you have Saturday to look forward to. I'm with Joyce in encouraging you to get a cleaning service. You could try it for a month and see how it goes. Take care and I'm sure James won't forget the love poured into him from you!
Hi Debby, I have fond memories of my grands. I am sure James Will remember you. Have a nice Mother’s Day weekend. There is a great Mexican food place off Pierce and Magnolia called Chillitos. Not fancy, but the food is really good.
Hi Debby,
I hope you are feeling better.
I think you are right on, tell your kids how much you love them, over and over.
xo
I can totally understand you not wanting to be alone right now. Do Adam and Gabby live very far? I don't know what to say, except I'm keeping you in my prayers.
Awesome pictures of James.
The one phrase I remember my mom saying is "If you don't stop crying I'm going to give you something to cry about" I can't recall using that on my kids because honestly it made no sense.
Great answers
James is really growing up there in that picture.
I love the Chicken Cantina Bowl and the beef one there.
You are right - and your kids are going to remember and know they were loved - because they are. You are a great mom.
Praying.
Yes, letting them know how much they are loved. And thank you for sharing all the pictures of James. Its fun to watch him grow.
I liked your answers
