Skye was helping me fix the bed. ~NOT~ Every time I put the quilt up by the pillows she pulled it back down. She can be such a clown sometimes. She fits right in our family with her humor!
************************************So speaking of the bedroom, I recently got an anonymous comment from a post of mine from late June about ordering Viagra. It's only been a few weeks since I took off my word verification. I need your opinion because I am still so new at this. I must admit that I was very upset about this. Should I be concerned or just assume it was a rare occurrence?

She's so silly!! I don't have the capchta on mine and I never get any spam. I would just keep an eye and if it keeps happening then maybe put it back on.
Before I put up word verification, I would turn on comments moderation. I had to do that.

I would put comment moderation on for all comments over 2 weeks old. See if that helps and then decide.
I love seeing Skye. I do not let anonymous people post. I think it is your blog and I do not think it is nice to leave a rude comment...

Debby...we lost our Chocolate Lab, Grace last December and now have no pet to love. Seeing Skye fills that void...she is such a character. thank you for sharing her.

I got the same anonymous comment! I think I'll be changing my comment moderation like blueviolet suggested.

I would just put on comment moderation, which is easier to deal with than comment verification (if you ask me).
I have never gotten any comments like this but I might have to take blueviolet's suggestion.

I have heard quite a few people talk about spam lately. I have never had that problem (knock on wood) but in my settings I have a big "NO" on letting search engines find my blog. This can cut down on the problem too!

The spambots have been busy-I've had a bunch lately, too. I've been closing comments on the ones that are getting it a lot and that has helped. I'm not doing anything yet as so far it is only a minor annoyance.
I love Skye's personality! :) My dogs both just want to help whenever I make my bed too. They like to dive under the covers and make lumps everywhere.
I don't have word verification on my blog, and I haven't gotten any spam in 2 years. Most blogs I read do have the security measure in place though, so I'm thinking it would depend on how often it happens to you.
I've gotten a few spammy messages this past week, but I just delete them. The 30 minutes that the comment is up on my blog, on a really old post, isn't worth the trouble to enable comment moderation or word verification, in my opinion.
My cat loves to run under the sheets when I change the bedding - animals are so much fun!

I've always used word verification. If people want to leave a comment, they won't mind it, if they do mind it: tough! And apart from that I also have comment moderation on all posts older than three days I believe.

I got the viagra one too. lol. Since I've turned off my word verification ( months) I've only had like 3 spam comments. then I just go delete them.

unless you start getting a lot of spam i would not worry about it...it does not happen that often. I had the comment moderation on for a while and that is nice because then you know what the comment says before they are viewable.

Was it the one with line after line of hyperlinks? If so, I got that one, too. I removed word verification soon after I started my blog and this is the only time that's happened. It's easy enough to delete those types of comments. If it doesn't happen again, I'm not worried about it and you probably shouldn't either.
