THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE

I received this in an email and wanted to share this story with you.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him.

Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, 'God! How could you do this to me?'

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! 'How did you know I was here?' asked the weary man of his rescuers. 'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied.

The Moral of This Story: It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.

That is such a good story. Sometimes it is so hard to step back during the trials and realize that it is just another stepping stone in God's plan for us. Happy Sunday!

That's a great story! I dropped by here from Mckmama's blogfrog. You posted that your favorite movie is The Five Pennies. I was so excited that someone else has not only seen, but loves that movie that I had to "come by" and say, "Hi. You have great taste in movies." :)

That is one I hadn't heard. I can't even tell you how many times I wonder about things & see God's plan revealed later...Thankfully as I get older I know a little better now & when in the midst of pain & trials I already know...God will explain later :)

thanks Debby!!!

Hi! I just saw your comment :) I am originally from the Redlands area, and I know exactly where you are from! I was surprised to see that city on the envelope when I got the hankerchief for my tears. I think we just found a place in Grand Terrace, keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Amen and it's so easy to do just that but it's the hard work we put in our relationship with him that will pay off and give us the strength we need.
