Born May 18, 1981 in Downers Grove, IL. Her birth was a much better experience then the birth of our son. It was a planned c-section and this time I was awake with an epidural and plenty of medications so I wouldn't have an asthma attack and spend 24 hours in intensive care.
I had my boy and my girl.
Aww.........check out those dimples!
Look at those big brown eyes!
Her and her brother.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
These are the pictures she allowed me to post.
She was adorable and is a very beautiful woman. When she was very young I would say this is my daughter the bitch. I know that sounds mean but she was as stubborn as they come. Those who know her agreed with me. One of my friends asked me one day if she could reprimand her, I said sure go for it! It didn't faze her at all, she still didn't listen. The doctor told me that I should be able to reason with her when she was 3. I think he meant 30, we are still waiting :) (Had to share that story honey, you know how much I love you)
She was married in February 2002 to our wonderful son-in-law. He had been away in the service when 911 happened. They decided that when he got home they would get married. They got engaged around the 12th of January and were married a few weeks later. She actually had the most beautiful wedding you could imagine, you would have thought it was planned out for a year. She was married at the Mission Inn in Riverside, CA. We didn't live in Riverside at that time. She was a beautiful bride. I must tell you that when you need to get things done you get them done! (It couldn't have been more perfect and we didn't have the stress of waiting a whole year)
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Some facts from 1981
We celebrated her birthday here at the house on Saturday. She didn't want to go out to eat, she wanted my Black Bean Chili, garlic bread and a coconut cream pie. (In the top photo but I didn't make it) We played cards for a few hours and after dinner we played Taboo! It was so much fun and we laughed allot.
These are the pictures she allowed me to post.
I'll be back next week with Post It Note Tuesday!

Happy Birthday baby girl! You know, as tough as it is to raise a stubborn child (I have 2), the stubborness serves them so well as adults. It turns into determination and perseverance! I'm waiting patiently!

I love the look back in time stuff. I was born in 79, so it's neat to see what was going on when I was so young.

the post was really sweet! :)
Happy Birthday to your daughter! enjoyed seeing her pictures and reading about her. I think she and her now hubby were wise to have a short engagement; it amazes me when I read about people planning a wedding 2 years in the future; seems like a long time to wait.
sounds like you had a wonderful time celebrating her special day with her!

I am sure I wore a dress like that when I was a baby! =) and I just have to say... I have not had coconut cream pie!
ohmystars, i graduated high school that year. man. i feel sooooo i dunno, not old, but not of this era anymore! she's certainly adorable!
i tagged you today on my blog. play along if you'd like. if not, i'm totally cool with that!
Happy birthday to your daughter. I looked at the cost of living in both years. It is hard to believe that if I was smart enough and could have gotten into Harvard, it would only have cost me $4,850.00 in 1979. Also, nothing beats mom's home cooking. Nothing like homemade. You must share your recipe with us if you haven't already. It sounds like everyone had a great time.
I'm learning how much asthma sucks. I'm happy her birth didn't cause you issues with it.
Happy Birthday to your daughter!
I love it the ones she let you post! Oh I think my mom would have said things like that about me at times too ... lol :)
The dinner sounds oh so yummy!!!
Happy Birthday!
Oh this sounds like a great Birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to your baby:)

I hope my mom might someday be as open about me as you are towards your daughter(pf course since we are now best of friends...since I've grown up that is). Anyhow, happy b-day you special girl! I love that another family sits around and plays old fashioned games...make me feel not quite so weird about us and our pinochle.
Happy Birthday to your daughter! She may have been stubborn but she was absolutely adorable!!!!
