Well our little girl gave us a big scare last night. We were outside and she was doing her usual hunting of lizards and she suddenly ran over, peed on stepping stone which is unusual for her and then sat near us with her ears down. We keep asking her what was wrong, like she normally answers the questions we ask her! We thought that maybe she got stung but the bees were already gone for the day. Then we thought snake or spider but couldn't find anything. She seemed okay but cried when we touched her leg. So we gave her Benadryl just in case it was some bite. Other then that she seemed kind of normal. This is Skye on Benadryl........
So when we took her out a few more times she was acting strange, couldn't pee. It was like it hurt her to pee, she went around in circles and then laid down. Decided that I would call the vet in the morning if she wasn't better. She was still playing with Charlie and her toys but when it was time to pee she only dribbled a little bit. So she saw the vet today and we are pretty sure that it's a bladder infection. One test will come back tomorrow and a deeper one will come back in about 4 days. So if you could say a prayer for her I would appreciate it.
Like I said she seems pretty good otherwise but I am happy I took her in. I told my husband that since we didn't have to pay for her to stay in the kennel this year she still managed to get us to spend the money on her. ($300.) Hopefully the deeper test will come back fine and she will be rechecked in two weeks. So how is your Friday going? I'm ready for that glass of wine but I will wait because it's only 1:30 here!

Hi Debby, Praying that Skye will be back to normal tomorrow. Poor thing; I've never seen the Pill Pocket though-looks better than hiding it in canned food. Have a great weekend.

I will be praying for Skye. As part of God's creation, she is right up there on the priority. She is family! And...she is adorable.

I need a glass of wine and it is late enough (10 pm) but I still have to get the kids form the game in a bit so it will have to wait.
Don't get me started on how much vets rip us off... it should be criminal! so many pets are going without proper medical care because the owners just can't afford it :-(

Skye is lucky to have you! Not so lucky to have a UTI though... thankfully meds work quickly and she'll be back to her hunter-perky self in no time.
