A little bit of Bah Humbug showing......
I know I mentioned this before but I haven't been drinking much lately. Well Wednesday was not one of those days!!! I got an email from a friend of mine who told me that the gift cards I sent to her boys had no money on them. They actually accused her of stealing them. I know it wasn't my fault but I certainly was embarrassed. Now I have to wait and wonder about all my gift cards that were purchased that same day and are on their way to family!
So I had won a wonderful gift card to Ruth's Brownies and went to place my order. The gift card wasn't working and it took a few days with customer service to get my order placed. The gift card never went through so they had to do a credit for the amount. So they arrive yesterday and there are only 1/2 a dozen brownies in the box, I ordered a dozen. So I had to get back on with them, they apologized and will be sending out another dozen. Not a big deal but a hassle for sure.
So my husband wanted a pair of slippers for Christmas. Found a great deal on some really nice ones. Guess what?, they don't fit and have to go back. The only reason I know this is because he tells me to get him slippers and then he comes into my office one evening telling me that he just found & ordered some really nice slippers online. He forgot he told me to get him some!
Then he tells me to get him one of those inexpensive sweatshirts (L) at Walmart, I think they are like $7.00. So a week later he says "did I tell you L, I meant to say XL" thank you very much!
So the frozen deep dish Chicago pizza for Christmas Day was supposed to arrive yesterday. Was delayed because of weather. It should still be frozen but there is a chance that it won't be. If it is thawed it has to be eaten within 48 hours! That would mean we would not have it for Christmas Day. My husband said we will just order it again for next week. In the meantime we would be eating pizza a lot before Christmas. So say a little prayer that it arrives frozen today.
For some reason some of the littlest things just set me off!
I am almost done with the decorating. I think the wine helped, maybe I will try it again today!

Wow, sorry you've had so much aggravation! I just sent a gift card to work with hubs today for his secretary. I told him to be sure to include the receipt that shows it was activated because you are not the first one who has told me they've had gift card woes.
I hope you get to relax and enjoy the weekend...sip a glass of wine in front of what I'm sure is your beautifully decorated tree and enjoy...and Chicago pizza will be good no matter what day it arrives : )

Oh gosh Debby, I'm so sorry you had so much hassle with the giveaway you won. That really makes me quite mad!!! You put a lot of faith in these sponsors, and they messed up twice. Deep breath Debby and big hugs for the weekend.
Wow! I hope things begin looking up soon. I've been leary of buying gift cards since I heard on the radio about people stealing money off of them.

poor debby. what a pain in the ass. i know those are little things but they all add up to a crappy day.
That was an awful lot of aggravations for one week. Enough I say. Debby needs a break!

So totally with you....I've got 8 days, my tree still is decorated, I'm not done shopping, everyone's coming to my house for dinner and I have no idea what to serve them so needless to say I haven't purchased anything for the meal. There has been no baking or wrapping and at this point I just want to put the pillow over my head and sob until it's all over......

I don't think it's the little things. I think it's a bombardment of little things! Wow, that's a lot of 'stuff gone wrong.'
I find that a little wine is quite capable of turning a frown upside down!
That is the kind of White Christmas I would love to have. I will have the real kind though.. I do not like it when things go wild and are not your way.. It is just not right.. I hope things get better. I know they will..

I guess that means I'm dreaming of a red Christmas.
We used to have a rule in my marriage that we weren't allowed to buy ourselves anything in December so as not to pre-empt Christmas gifts.
OhmyGosh! Debby! That would send anyone straight to the bottle(s)!! My poor friend!
But ya got to roll with the punches... order takeout chicken for Christmas if all fails, and let hubby go naked and barefoot!
